Welcome: The Month of Ramadhan
30th day of Shaban is called Yamul Shak (doubtful day) if you do not receive news about Ramadan moonsighting on 29th evening or before the end of 30th day.
It is haram to fast on 30th Shaban with the niyat intention of 1st of Ramadan.
It is Mustahab to keep fast on 30th Shaban but the Niyyat (intention) should be either
(a) with the Niyyat of Mafiz-zimma (to discharge my responsibility), or
(b) with the Niyyat of any Qaza fast of previous Ramadan, if any, or
(c) with the Niyyat of Mustahab Shaban fast.
If you do a double Niyyat of fasting (i.e. 30th Shaban or 1st Ramadan), then such a Niyyat is wrong according Ayatullah Khui, but it is OK according to Ayt Khomeini and Ayt Seestani.
If you are fasting on 30th Shaban, and if, at any time on that day, you get the news of moon sighting of 29th Shaban, then you must immediately change Niyyat to Niyyat of 1st of Ramadan.
If you have fasted on 30th Shaban (with any Niyyat), and afterwards you come to know that it was 1st of Ramadan, then your fast will automatically be counted as fast of 1st of Ramadan.
If you are not fasting on 30th Shaban, then following actions are necessary on you:
(a) If you get the news after sunset of 30th Shaban or later that the moon had been actually sighted on evening of 29th Shaban, then you have to keep Qaza of 1st Ramadan after the month of Ramadan.
(b) If you get the news of moon sighting after Zawal time (Islamic mid-day), then it is haram to eat or drink or do anything, which is not allowed during fasting from that time onward until Iftar time on that day, and you have to do Qaza of 1st of Ramadan later on.
(c) If you get the news of moon sighting before Zawal time (Islamic mid-day), then
(i) if you have not eaten or drunk anything or done anything which breaks fast, you must immediately do the Niyyat of fasting of Ramadan for that day,
(ii) if you have eaten or drunk something or have done anything which breaks fast, then you have to act as if fasting for the rest of the day, and then do Qaza of 1st of Ramadan later on.

Where are the Advocates of Human Rights?
The widespread killings of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar - have received only passing and dispassionate coverage in most media. What they actually warrant is widespread outrage and decisive efforts to bring further human rights abuses to an immediate halt.
“Burmese helicopter set fire to three boats carrying nearly 50 Muslim Rohingyas fleeing sectarian violence in western Burma in an attack that is believed to have killed everyone on board,” reported Radio Free Europe on July 12.
Why would anyone take such fatal risks? Refugees are attempting to escape imminent death, torture or arrest at the hands of the Ethnic Buddhist Rakhine majority, which has the full support of the Myanmar government. Full Story

The Helpers of Imam Mahdi (a.s.)
The Fifteenth day of the month of Sha'baan is celebrated as the birthday of the 12th Imam, Hadhrat Imam Mahdi (atfs). He was born in the year 255 as per the Hijri calendar.
He is in occultation and will reappear to fill the earth with justice and equity as it is filled with oppression and tyranny.
During the celebration we had taken the opinion, thoughts and views of some of his lovers that while they are praying for his early reappearance and want to be among his helpers, what role they expect to play during his Zohoor (reappearance). This short video will give the viewers to think about their role.

Israelis Live in Fear
![]() |
Kenya Human Rights Commissioner, Hassan Omar Hassan |
Former commissioner of the Kenya Human Rights Commission, Hassan Omar Hassan, reacting to the news in some Kenyan newspapers planted by the Israelis which reported that two Iranians wanted to bomb thirty places in Kenya!".
He wrote:
"I hardly believe what Israel says. I add spoonfuls of salt to everything it says. They still live in the ‘invincibility’ syndrome and mentality. Thinking and believing that they can manipulate international public opinion. They perpetuate a myth of their ‘unparallel’ capacity in matters of security. So you live in fear of Israel and its designs.
You are concerned that they can spook your drink or engineer a fatal road crush through an ‘innocent’ tyre burst. That they have ‘dirt’ against you should you raise an issue against them! Your feeble soul is sworn to criminal silence and inaction. The Palestinian quest for self-determination becomes a ‘terrorist’ resistance. Murder and international crimes are justified under the guise of Israel’s security.
Our ‘third world’ psyches are imbibed in the make-belief that their surveillance is ‘omnipresent’ and their intelligence concrete and irrefutable. And with the compliment of stooge intelligence organisations and pseudo security officers like the ones we have in Kenya, the myth is complete.
When we have the under-schooled ethnic zealots as managers of our security against the flambouyance and resources of ‘revered’ foreign intelligence organisations, you are an underdog.
Our security then becomes the preserve of foreign dictates. When the US wills it, you are published on some list. Terrorist sponsoring nation, terrorist this or terrorist that, suspect this or suspect that.
Through foreign-sponsored intelligence outfits and units, Kenyans are subjected to an unending spate of violation. Public accolade for these violations is spurned through conditions of fear and threat at times drummed by the uncritical media.
That’s why I was relatively impressed by part of the coverage by our local media on the alleged plot by Iran on Israeli targets or interests in Kenya. The world is no longer foolish. Kenyans reacted in the various opinion pages on taking Israel’s assertions with a pinch of salt.
In my travels while at the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, I witnessed a frustration of the US/Israel ‘movie’ tactics to stage manage and influence events to avert accountability for violations of the Palestinian people.
To shift focus from the real issues! Nations and governments that stood firm with the Palestinian struggle were rogue, ‘terrorist’ sponsoring nations. The narrative was and is that these countries desire the destruction of Israel and possess of have ambition in “weapons of mass destruction” or nuclear weapons.
On these allegations countries were bombed, towns and cities destroyed, hundred of thousands of its citizens killed and maimed, families shattered while others were embargoed and demonised."
