Commemoration of Martyrdom of Imam Ali (a.s.) in Mumbai City

The second Laylatul Qadr, the 21st night of the holy month of Ramadhan. The believers Mumbai city and the suburbs were awake for this great night. The Masajid and Imambadas were bustling with activities. The murmering of Jaushane Kabeer Dua could be heard from these places. the sound of mourning could be heard in Majalis on the narration of the martyrdom Imam Ali (a.s.).
After finishing the Sehri in the different part of the city the Majalis were held and the replica of the Taboot of Hadhrat (a.s.) were carried by the youths and nauha and seena zani was done. The atmosphere was filled with "Ya Ali Maula" and "Haider Maula." Mira Road, Govandi, Mumbra, Kurla, Andheri, Bandra, Zainabia, Moghul Masjid and at scores of place had this kind of commemorative programmes.
The Major event was held at Zainabia Imambada in South Bombay. Thousands of mourners attended the Juloos (procession) in the early hours of 21st Ramadhan. Below video is of Zainabia Imambada the starting point of the Juloos which terminates at Imamia Masjid.

Hujjatol Islam Janab Maqsud Mawlayee

Teacher in Qom Islamic seminary, H.I. Maqsud Mawlayee had his 2nd visit to India. Last Ramadhan he was in Bangalore city and this year he is visiting Mumbai. He went around mainly in the South of the city. Fotowat (Darbare Husaini), Moghul Masjid, Imamia Masjid, Shia Jame' Masjid in Dongri, Kesar Baugh etc. He visited Zainabia on 24th Ramadhan where we had a opportunity to talk to him.
He found the city very adorable. Monineen very warm and welcoming. As he was among the believers during the three Laylatul Qadr, he was nostalgic to see them engrossed in A'maal, crying and seeking forgiveness from Allah, fully awake for all the sacred nights. He confessed that he felt that as if he was in Qom, just like the Haram of Hadhrat Masuma (s.a.), where he had seen the same kind of ebaadat. He also found the momineen of the city very religious and committed. He was very happy over here.
But, he was disturbed a bit that there is a GAP in the relations between Shias and Sunnis over here, while it is not so in Iran. He felt that the Wahhabis are trying very hard to widen this gap. The Shias and Sunnis should be very careful, as these Wahhabis are working for their real masters (US & Israel).
Janab Maqsud Mawlayee was very much impressed by the Indian hospitality. He wished that he would come again and again to this beautiful country.
He could not address the non-Iranians as it was one of the conditions for his visa approval.

Ten Majalis and a Mahfil

Anjuman Alamdariya, Azamgarh has been organising an ashra in the month of Ramadhan for the last 61 years in Mumbai at Imamia Masjid. marhum maulana Sayed Karrar Husain saheb had been one of the zakir for this ashra. This ashra has started on 25th August 2010 and will continue till 3rd September 2010. The zakir for this year is Janab Sayed Tehzibul Hasan sb. There was a Mahfil on Wednsday night on the birthday of Imam Hasan (a.s.). The one hour majlis begins at 8.00 PM daily.

Majlis of Chehlum at Imamia Masjid

Mr. Abbas Kazmi, the managing trustee of Imamia Masjid has informed that a Majlis on the Chehlum of marhuma Masuma Bibi has been arranged on Sunday 18th April 2010 at Imamia Masjid 11.00 AM. The Zakir will be Hujjatul Islam Maulana Husain Mahdi Husaini a senior teacher at Najafi House Hawza.  All are invited. marhuma Masuma was the daughter of late Abu Mohammad Zaidi.

Majlis for the Departed Soul of marhuma Masuma

Imamia Masjid Trust has organised a Majlis for the eisal-e-sawab of marhuma Masuma Khatoon d/o Sayed Abu Mohammad Zaidi marhum and younger sister of Sayed Mohammad Haider Zaidi, the managing trustee of Syed Aboo Mohammad Trust.
It will be held on Sunday 11th April 2009 at 11.00 AM at Imamia Masjid itself. The managing trustee of Imamia Masjid and well known lawyer Janab Abbas Kazmi informed that Maulana Manzar Abbas sahab will be reciting the Majlis.

Mourning on the Shahadat of the Holy Prophet & his grandson

Today is the Shahadat of Holy Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him and his holy Progeny) & his eldest grandson Hazrat Imam Hasan (a.s.). Last night there were Majalis, Juloos & Shabbedaari all over the city. A Juloos organised by Anjuman-e-Azadaaran-e-Husayn started from Yaqub Street and terminated at Imamia Masjid. 8/9 Anjumans participated in it which included an Anjuman from Jalalpur (UP). Shabbedaari at Zainabia Imambada was arranged by Anjuman-e-Asghariya. Majalis were held at different points in the Mumbai city.

A Nikah at Imamia Masjid

It is a complete Shia Isna Ashari Nikah. One can use it as a template for recitation, just replacing the names of the bride and the groom and their father's name. The amount of the Mehr should be agreed upon by both the parties. Also proper Makhraj* is a condition for reciting a nikah.
