New Moon of Moharram 1433 A.H. has been Sighted

The new moon of the month of Moharram 1433 A.H. has been sighted in different cities of India.

Imam Husain (as), has said: 

"I am the martyr of tears, 

no man of faith remembers me but that he weeps."

Importance of Nauha and Marsiya on Imam Husain:

On another occasion, the poet Ja'far ibne Iffaan recited to our Imam al-Sadiq a poem on the tragedy of Kerbala. The Imam began to weep uncontrollably. He then addressed the poet in the following terms: 

"O Iffaan, do not think that it is only those whom you can see here are listening to your poetry. In fact Allah's closest angels are present here at this majlis and they are all listening to your recitation and they too lament and weep. May Allah bless you for what you have recited. He will, inshallah, reward you with paradise for your efforts on our behalf."

Celebrating Imam Husain (a.s.)'s Birthday at Mahim

On Sunday 10th July, at the Mehfil-e-Panjatan at Mahim, a function was held celebrating the birth of Hadhrat Imam husain (a.s.), the grandson of the holy Prophet of Islam. It was from 3.00 PM till the Salaat of Maghrib. The outstation and local poets participated in it.
The programme commenced with the recitation of holy Qur'an and later a very comprehensive speech of hujjatul Islam Maulana Sayyed Hasnain Kararvi.
The programme was compered by Dr. Sha-oor Aazmi. It finished by the Salaat with Jama'at of Maghrib. Those who would love to have the DVD of the whole Jashn can call Shaazz on 9892003932.

Greetings to All on the Birth Anniversary of Hadhrat Zainab (a.s.)

Today is 5th Jamaadil Awwal, the birth anniversary of Hadhrat Zainab (a.s.), called as Sayyda Zainab. Sayyida Zainab (sa) is the elder daughter of Imam Ali (as) and Hazrat Fatima Zahra (sa), and eldest granddaughter of Prophet Muhammad (saw) and Ummul Momineen Hazrat Khadijah (sa). She was the third child of the family i.e. she was born after Imam Hussain (as). She is the sister of Imam Hasan (as) and Imam Hussain (as), Sayyid Shabab ul Jannah. Her younger sister is Hazrat Umm-e-Kulsoom (sa).
Fatima (AS) and Ali (AS) did not name their child until a few days after her birth, for they awaited the Prophet's return from a journey so that he could propose the name.
When finally the baby girl was brought before him he held her in his lap and kissed her. The Angel Jibra'il came to him and conveyed the name that was to be hers, and then he began to weep. The Prophet (PBUH&HF) asked why Jibra'il wept and he answered,

"O Prophet of Allah. From early on in life this girl will remain entangled in tribulations and trials in this world. First she will weep over your separation (from this world); thereafter she will bemoan the loss of her mother, then her father, and then her brother Hasan. After all this she will be confronted with the trials of the land of Karbala and the tribulations of that lonely desert, as a result of which her hair will turn grey and her back will be bent."  Read More
