From tonight immediately after namaaz-e-Maghrib daily for 5 days Majalis will be held at Bandra Khoja Jaam'e Masjid, Bazar Road, Bandra (w).
Hujjatul Islam Maulana Zulfiqar Mahdi Sahab will be the speaker. This Khamsa (5 Majalis) is held every year on the days of the shahadat of Hadhrat Fatema Zahra (s.a.), the only daughter of the holy Prophet (s.a.) of Islam. 
Jafri Propagation Centre is video recording these majalis. Anybody likes have a DVD can contact them. Their office is just opposite the Masjid itself.

Maulana Muntazir Abbas Rizvi

Rushaid Rizvi has invited the azadaars to the Ashra-e-Majalis (10 Majlises) at his residence. Last night was the inaugural majlis. The zakir of these majalis is Hujjatul Islam Maulana Muntazir Abbas Rizvi (Bhavnagar).

Commemoration of Martyrdom of Imam Ali (a.s.) in Mumbai City

The second Laylatul Qadr, the 21st night of the holy month of Ramadhan. The believers Mumbai city and the suburbs were awake for this great night. The Masajid and Imambadas were bustling with activities. The murmering of Jaushane Kabeer Dua could be heard from these places. the sound of mourning could be heard in Majalis on the narration of the martyrdom Imam Ali (a.s.).
After finishing the Sehri in the different part of the city the Majalis were held and the replica of the Taboot of Hadhrat (a.s.) were carried by the youths and nauha and seena zani was done. The atmosphere was filled with "Ya Ali Maula" and "Haider Maula." Mira Road, Govandi, Mumbra, Kurla, Andheri, Bandra, Zainabia, Moghul Masjid and at scores of place had this kind of commemorative programmes.
The Major event was held at Zainabia Imambada in South Bombay. Thousands of mourners attended the Juloos (procession) in the early hours of 21st Ramadhan. Below video is of Zainabia Imambada the starting point of the Juloos which terminates at Imamia Masjid.

Ten Majalis in Malony Malad

From 23rd December an Ashra (10) of Majalis has started in Mehfile Mohibbane Husain, gate no.5, plot no.3 Malony Colony, Malad (west). This will continue till 3rd January 2012 daily at 8.30 PM.
This Ashra is organised by Anjumane Mohibbane Aale Rasool (s.a.), Koshambi (UP).
Maulana Sayyed Qalbe Zaid will be the Zakir.

Moharram Majalis at Antop Hill

 Majalis of Moharram at Imambada Anjumane Tableeghe Husaini, Vijay Nagar, near Karbala Masjid, Antop Hill.
Irfanbhai is a motivating force and managing this Ashra.
Majlis starts at 9.30 AM. Zakir is Maulana Zeeshan Haider Zaidi.

Shab-bedaari in Mumbai City Tonight

Tonight, is the night of Arbaeen. At many Imambadas and Husainiyas the Ashraas (ten majalis) and Khamsas (five majalis) will conclude and will be followed by shab-bedaaris.

125th Year of Anjumane Imamia

There are more than 250 maatami anjumans in the Mumbai city. They organise majalis, shab bedaari, participate in juloos, arrange Mehfile Maqasida, erect water sabeels, ditribute niyaz and tabarruk, etc. One of the anjuman is, Anjumane Imamia.
The membership of this Anjuman has crossed the 300 mark. Majority of them belong to Lucknow of Northern India. They organise 10 majalis every year from 1st Safar to 10th Safar, the second month of the Islamic calendar.
The president of this anjuman is Kausar Zaidi and the secretary is Rizwan sahab. They had been managing the affairs of this anjuman competitively for the last few years.
This anjuman was established 125 years ago. The majalis of Safar is 100 years old. Marhum Taher Jarwali, one of the greatest orater of his time had been one of the most successful zakir. The azadaars would come an hour in advance to hold their places on farshe aza of Babar Ali Imambada (now Zainabia). His sudden and sad demise in Mashhad left the members of Anjuman perplexed.
They invited Agha Ruhi from Lucknow, but, after 3 or 4 majalis he discontinued due to ill health and invited maulana Ghazanfar Abbas to carry the ashra till 10th Safar. This year is the 25th Ashra of the said maulana. Tonight is the 9th majlis and tomorrow will be the last followed by Shab bedaari.

Majalis at Rizvi Foundation, Bandra West

Bandra, the queen of the suburbs is a very forward and posh part of Mumbai city. Many bollywood film stars reside over here. Carter Road's Joggers Park and Band Stand  are famous site seeing points. Bandra West boasts of having dozens of good colleges, hospitals, shopping malls etc. But, apart from it, the Shias are very religious and are in good numbers. During 2 months (Moharram and Safar) of azadaari one can see men and women in mourners (black) clothes traveling extensively for majalis.
For more than a decade, an Ashra of Majlis is held for the first 10 days of the month of Safar  at Rizvi Foundation of Ambedkar Rd., Pali Hill. The ashra has already started from 6th Jan 2011 and will continue upto 15th of January. Maulana Zulfiqaar Mahdi is the zakir. The majalis are for ladies and as well as for gents. The timings are 8.00 PM.

Twelve Majalis

Janab Faraz Wasti is reciting 12 Majalis at Zainabia Imambada from 26th December 2010 to 6th of January 2011. The timings are 9.00 PM. The topic is 'Helpers of Imam Husain (a.s.)'. All the lovers of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) are invited to these Majalis. It is organised by Anjuman-e-Ghulamaan-e-Wali-e-Asr (atfs).

Ten Majalis and a Mahfil

Anjuman Alamdariya, Azamgarh has been organising an ashra in the month of Ramadhan for the last 61 years in Mumbai at Imamia Masjid. marhum maulana Sayed Karrar Husain saheb had been one of the zakir for this ashra. This ashra has started on 25th August 2010 and will continue till 3rd September 2010. The zakir for this year is Janab Sayed Tehzibul Hasan sb. There was a Mahfil on Wednsday night on the birthday of Imam Hasan (a.s.). The one hour majlis begins at 8.00 PM daily.

Khamsa (5) Majalis for Ladies

The secretary of Khadijatul Kubra Trust, Mr. Abbas Ali Talebi has announced that the Tust will hold 5 Majalis on the occasion of the shahadat of Hazrat Fatema Zahra (s.a.), the beloved and the only daughter of the Holy Prophet of Islam.

These Majalis will start from today the 7th May till Monday, 11th of May 2009. The timings will be 4.00 pm. The venue is Mahfil-e-Zahra, Khadijatul Kubra, Andheri (west), Mumbai-400053.

This photograph was taken in the year 2008 after Hajj. The Iranian women are standing outside the Jannatul Baqie reciting ziyarat and crying. The women are not allowed inside the Baqie and the entry for men is also restricted. The gates are opened for them for an hour in the morning and in the evening. There are also restrictions on reciting ziyarat with a loud voice, crying is prohibited and explaination not allowed for the fellow pilgrims. The mutawwas (religious police) resemble Shimr for their implemention for the above restriction. When it is questioned to these people by the Muslims that where is the grave of the daughter of the Holy Prophet, they say that they don't know and warn you that do not ask such questions.

Mourning on the Shahadat of the Holy Prophet & his grandson

Today is the Shahadat of Holy Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him and his holy Progeny) & his eldest grandson Hazrat Imam Hasan (a.s.). Last night there were Majalis, Juloos & Shabbedaari all over the city. A Juloos organised by Anjuman-e-Azadaaran-e-Husayn started from Yaqub Street and terminated at Imamia Masjid. 8/9 Anjumans participated in it which included an Anjuman from Jalalpur (UP). Shabbedaari at Zainabia Imambada was arranged by Anjuman-e-Asghariya. Majalis were held at different points in the Mumbai city.

5 Majalis Remembering Envoy of Imam Husain (a.s.)

Anjuman has organised 5 Majalis at Zainabia Imambada from tonight at 9.00 pm. The Zakir is Maulana Sayed Shahid Hasan Rizvi saheb. These Majalis will be in the remembrance of Janab Muslim Ibne Aqeel, the special envoy of Hadhrat Imam Husain (a.s.) to Kufa, Iraq, before the tragedy of Karbala. Maulana Shahid Hasan Saheb's topic is "Safeer-e-Husain (a.s.)."
