Tomorrow May be the First Day of Rajab

Imām Mūsā ibn Ja‘far al-Kāzim (A.S.) said:
"Rajab is a river of Paradise whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. One who observes one fast in the month of Rajab, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime would satisfy him with this river."
[Reference: Sawaabul A’amaal & Iqaabul A’amaal, Page 84 ]

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq (A.S.) said:
“Nuh (a.s.) boarded his ark on the first of Rajab and ordered his companions to fast on that day. He said that Hell goes away to a distance of one year from one who fasts on this day. One who fasts for seven days all the seven doors of Hell would be closed for him. One who fasts for eight days all eight doors of Paradise would be opened for him. One who fasts for fifteen days would have his problems solved. One who fasts for more than this Allah, the Mighty and Sublime would grant him a greater reward."

(Thanks Baaqir)

Holy Prophet Muḥammad al Mustafā (S.A.W.W) said :
"...Know that if a faithful person fasts (in month of Rajab) seeking reward from Allāh he has gained lots of pleasure of Allāh The fast of that person would end the anger of Allāh upon him; a door of Hell would be closed for him. The reward of this fast with pure intention is better than giving an earth filled with gold as charity. No object in this world can make his reward complete except good deeds. As soon as night falls, Allāh would fulfill his ten wishes. If he prays for worldly life his prayers would be accepted. One who prays for His friends, lovers and chosen people, Allāh would accept his prayers...“

Mumbai Muslims Celebrate the Birth of the Holy Prophet (s.a.)

Today is 12th Rabiul Awwal, as per the Ahle Sunnat, the birth and the demise occured on the same day. For this reason in India and Pakistan this day is known as "Baara Wafat."
This day was downplayed by the Wahhabis for some years and they refrained the Muslims from celebrating the birthday of the holy Pophet (s.a.), but, as the funding from Saudi Arabia  dried up they are mere spectators for the grand celebrations all over the country.
Mumbai city is witnessing more and more involvements of Muslim youths in the celebration. Every nook and corner of the city is decorated. There are beautiful stages put up on every street. Loudspeakers blaring Na't shareef to greet the approaching procession irrespective of sects (except Wahhabis). At Bhindi Bazaar square in the old city, a huge stage is  erected where Shia Olama gather to greet the procession.
After Zohr, a procession starts from Khilafat House, Byculla and ends up late night after passing through major squares of the city. Slogans like Naarae Takbir, Naarae Risalat and Naarae Haidery are echoed by the crowd in trucks and lorries.
Tonight, is the night of celebrations for the Muslims and their love for the holy Prophet, Hadhrat Mohammad Mustafa (s.a.), the mercy for the Universes.

Martyrdom of the Unborn Child, Mohsin

Two days after Hadhrat Muhammad's (s.a.) death(28th Safar), Hadhrat Umar al-Khattab led a party of armed men to Hadhrat Ali's (a.s.) house. They called for the men of the house to come out and swear allegiance to Hadhrat Abu Bakr, and also threatened to burn the house down. No one came out, so the armed men pushed their way into the house. Hadhrat Fatima Zahra (s.a.), who was pregnant at the time, was standing behind the door. Umar al Khattab pushed Fatima behind the burning door. He broke her ribs and wrist. Later, she miscarried a boy child, who was called Al Mohsin or Mushabbar. Fatima (s.a.) was gravely injured in the attack and died of her injuries some time later. One Can refer to LEsan Al Mizan Written by Ibne Hajar Al Asghalani, Then Mizan Al I'tedaal written by Al Zhahaby. Please also refer to the writings of Al Nazaam and #Al saffadi. The statement seen is "Umar Kicked Fatima until she miscarraiged her Son AL-Mohsin); About this Topic there was a discussion in Al Mustaqila TV as well, lasted for 90mins and the Sunni Ulema had afterwards no further comments to add and defend their claim.
The Shi'a believe that both Abu Bakr and Umar were responsible for killing both, Muhammad's daughter and grandson. For this section please refer to the Book Al Imamiah Val Siyasiyah by Ibn Qutaiba Deinevari, where we clearly see reference to Fatima condemning and Cursing the two.
As Fatima was dying, she asked Imam Ali to bury her in secret; she did not want Abu Bakr and Umar at her funeral.
Some Shi'a believe that Fatima was buried in the Jannat al-Baqi cemetery, in Medina, and that her grave there is now marked.[2] Others believe that she might have been buried in other locations in Medina and that Shi'a should pray at all three locations to be sure of honoring her grave. [3]
Mohsin b. Ali's (a.s.) martyrdom is widely documented by renowned scholars across eras of both the sects as..........read more

We give our condolences to the Imam of the time, hadhrat Hujjat (a.t.f.s.) on the martyrdom of Mohsin, the unborn child of the only daughter of the holy Prophet of Islam, the mercy to the mankind.

Facts about Zam-Zam Water

Zamzam well is 3.5 meters deep, 17 meters of which are of granite rocks. The well’s diameter is irregular. The part above the rocky layer is of lime with a constructed well, a linear section leaning toward the Holy Ka’ba.At this stage of work, Zamzam was cleared of many objects thrown in by people who wrongly believed that doing so brought luck and prosperity – metal money of different epochs, seals, emblems, pottery, earthen vessels and copper objects.
Down the ages, many people have examined the qualities of Zamzam. Muhammad Labib Al-Bitnoni, an Egyptian author, wrote in his book “Al-Rehlat Al-Hijaziyah” that “the water is alkaline; rich in sodium, calcium, potassium and chloride salts. It has sulfuric and nitric acids too. The combination makes it similar to mineral waters that have healing effects.”
It is difficult to describe the exact taste of Zamzam. “It is not that of water to which salt has been added, nor is it that of diluted water. Its true taste, a slight salinity is clear only to the person who drinks it,” writes Koshak. The well has never been infected by germs or microbes. It has never been polluted by floodwater or drainage of nearby houses. No one has ever contracted any disease by drinking the water. The well miraculously cleans itself.
It springs forth from beneath the venerated House of Allah – the Ka’ba – from the direction of Safa and Marwa.“The main source of Zamzam is an opening tending toward the Holy Ka’ba. It is 45 cm long and 30 cm wide and slopes downwards. It supplies the main volume of Zamzam as stated in historical references,” mentions Dr. Koshak, who was asked to supervise the cleaning and sterilization of the well in 1980. “The second main source is a broad gash measuring 70 cm long and 30 cm wide, that divides into two openings within. It lies in the direction of Ajyad,” he adds.
There are also secondary sources. These are small outlets between the stones at the junction of the built-and-hewn-parts of the well.
There are five openings in the one-meter gap separating the two main sources. Besides, there are 21 inlets distributed from near the first main source that opens in the direction of JabalAbu Qubais, the Safa and the Marwa, to the second main source. These inlets are at different levels and they discharge varying amounts of water.

Today Wafaat of Khadijatul Kubra: Wife of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.)

"Islam did not rise except through Ali's sword and Khadija's wealth," a saying goes. Khadija al-Kubra daughter of Khuwaylid ibn (son of) Asad ibn Abdul-`Uzza ibn Qusayy belonged to the clan of Banu Hashim of the tribe of Banu Asad.

Although the society in which Khadija was born was a terribly male chauvinistic one, Khadija earned two titles: Ameerat-Quraysh, Princess of Quraysh, and al-Tahira, the Pure One, due to her impeccable personality and virtuous character, not to mention her honorable descent. She used to feed and clothe the poor, assist her relatives financially, and even provide for the marriage of those of her kin who could not otherwise have had means to marry.

One particular quality in Khadija was quite interesting, probably more so than any of her other qualities mentioned above: she, unlike her people, never believed in nor worshipped idols. There was a very small number of Christians and Jews in Mecca, and a fairly large number of Jews in Medina.
The above photo is of Jannatul Muallah, the graveyard where she is buried.
