Why Saudi is Following Israeli Policy

In the wake of the beheading of Ayatullah Baqir al-Nimr, the Middle East has quickly reshaped its political landscape. In response to the execution, Iranian protesters stormed Saudi embassies in Tehran and Mashhad, setting ablaze the office in its capital. While Iran arrested sixty individuals involved and even sacked its Tehran commander of special forces[1], Foreign Ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council met in Riyadh to issue a joint statement condemning the attacks as “terrorism” and accused Iran of “blatant interventions in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” Saudi Arabia immediately announced the severing of diplomatic ties giving Iranian staff 48 hours to leave. Five days later, a Saudi airstrike struck Iran’s embassy in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa injuring several staff.[2]

Whilst the violence and rhetoric between Riyadh and Tehran may have been a predictable outcome, what has been surprising is the response from countries without direct involvement in the latest Saudi-Iranian confrontation. First came the announcement from Bahrain, expeditious in following their closest Gulf ally by cutting diplomatic relations. This was swiftly followed by the UAE in downgrading its diplomatic representation. While Qatar and Kuwait recalled their ambassadors, Jordan summoned Iran’s ambassador to condemn the attack and “Iranian interference.”

Even more curious, however, was the reaction of several African states. Sudan, Somalia and the tiny Horn of Africa nation, Djibouti, also cut ties with Iran citing “solidarity with Saudi Arabia.” This unprecedented trans-continental “solidarity” has drawn distinctly little attention from political commentators, almost establishing its normalcy in the political world. Few questions have been raised such as ‘what reason do these countries have to involve themselves in the Saudi-Iranian dispute’ or ‘why was there no such reprimand against the Saudis after airstrikes on the Iranian embassy?’ The silence is deafening. And it’s not the first time in recent weeks a trans-continental alliance with Saudi Arabia as its pivot has been formed.

Dozens of U.S. Airstrikes in Six Countries

While Americans savored the last moments of summer this Labor Day weekend, the U.S. military was busy overseas as warplanes conducted strikes in six countries in a flurry of attacks. The bombing runs across Asia, Africa and the Middle East spotlighted the diffuse terrorist threats that have persisted into the final days of the Obama presidency — conflicts that the next president is now certain to inherit.

In Iraq and Syria, between Saturday and Monday, the United States conducted about 45 strikes against Islamic State targets. On the other side of the Mediterranean, in the Libyan city of Sirte, U.S. forces also hit fighters with the militant group. On Sunday in Yemen, a U.S. drone strike killed six suspected members of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. The following day, just across the Gulf of Aden in Somalia, the Pentagon targeted al-Shabab, another group aligned with al-Qaeda. The military also conducted several counter terrorism strikes over the weekend in Afghanistan, where the Taliban and the Islamic State are on the offensive.

Militants in each of those countries have been attacked before, but the convergence of so many strikes on so many fronts in such a short period served as a reminder of the endurance and geographic spread of al-Qaeda and its mutations. Read Full

American taxpayers give Israel over $8 million per day

A Billboard in America

American taxpayers give Israel over $8 million per day – even though Israel is one of the world’s smallest and richest nations.
And this give-away costs Americans over $15 million per day.
An economist who conducted an audit for the Army War College found that as of 2003 Israel had cost Americans $3 trillion dollars because of the many associated and hidden costs of this money.
For example, Israel receives this massive aid in a lump sum at the very beginning of the fiscal year – unlike aid to any other country.
Since our government is operating at a deficit, this means that we borrow the money, deposit it in an Israeli account at a Federal Reserve Bank, and then taxpayers pay interest on this money long after it has been given away – while Israel makes interest on it.
It is failed policy that hurts everyone – both abroad and here at home.
This expenditure, unlike other governmental give-ways, is never openly discussed, due to the power of the Israel Lobby – the most powerful lobby on behalf of a foreign nation in our country.
A thorough, public discussion would show that it is a failed policy that prevents peace, perpetuates tragedy and injustice, finances discrimination against Christians and Muslims,  drags Americans into endless Middle Eastern conflicts, and has caused damage to Americans for decades.

Does Obama understand what's been unleashed?

A week after news of an alleged Iranian assassination plot in Washington rocked the international scene, public details remain scant. The Obama administration - including the president himself - has spoken with unequivocal certitude regarding the Iranian government’s intentions and involvement. But until he uses the same level of candour to publicly disclose detailed evidence, we will not know anything beyond allegations.
Pundits will continue speculating with whodunnit analysis that constructs an incomplete puzzle, but engaging in hypotheticals does not paint a clearer picture.
More telling are the increasingly dangerous geopolitical ramifications of this crisis. Full Story

In Florida, Wayne Sapp set fire to a copy of Holy Qur'an

Hindustan Times
Mumbai, March 24, 2011
Even as the city’s Muslim community refrained from reacting to the burning of a copy of the Quran on Sunday by a pastor in Florida, Catholic organisations came forth with strong statements of condemnation.
“The Indian Christian community unanimously condemns this irrational action. It is imperative for the US to take stern action against it,” said Abraham Mathai, president of the Indian Christian Voice and vice-chairman of the State Minorities Commission.  On March 20, Pastor Wayne Sapp set fire to a copy of the Quran. In July 2010, another pastor, Terry Jones, had threatened to burn a copy of the holy book on the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attack.
City-based Muslim priest Maulana Mehmood Daryabadi said. “We have been pained and are talking to the community to remain calm.”

Fate of Egyptian Revolution

Efforts of America and Israel is bearing fruits. They are not in a hurry to decide Egypt's fate.
They are busy in facilitating "Orderly Transition" as per their choice.
Angry Arab says: If Obama and Hillary were around for the Titanic disaster, they would have advised that the ship was not sinking: that it merely needed the passengers and captain to engage in meaningful dialogue.
Mubarak will not resign unless a new puppet is negotiated.
Two aspirants are in the midst of the people in Tahrir Square, one al Baradei and another Amr Mousa (Arab League chief).
Let's see who plays Saamri.
Firaun (Pharoah) is on the verge of drowning in the Nile.
Moses is yet to appear.
Keep you fingers crossed. Let the Egyptian people uncross it.
