Kuniyyat: Abu Muhammad

The Treaty agreed upon between Moawiya and Imam Hasan (as) tells us the following salient points:
1. That Moawiya should rule strictly according to the Holy Qur’an and the Sunna of the Prophet.
2. That Moawiya should not appoint or nominate anyone to the Khilafat after him but that the choice should be left to the Muslims.
3. That the people should be left in peace, wherever they are in the land of God.
4. That the persecution of the companions of Imam ‘Ali (as) should immediately be stopped; their lives and properties and families guaranteed safe conduct and peace.
5. That the cursing of Imam ‘Ali (as) from the pulpit should stop immediately.
6. That no harm should be done secretly or openly against Imam Hasan and his brother Imam Husayn or any of the Ahlul Bayt. (as)
This agreement concluded, Imam Hasan (as) went to Kufa, shortly followed by Moawiya who came there to take the allegiance of the people. In a speech delivered in front of Moawaiya, Imam Hasan (as) explained the situation clearly:
“O’People, Allah has guided you through our elders (Muhammad and ‘Ali) and spared you from bloodshed through those who followed (referring to himself). Indeed this (the Khilafat) is nothing but a passing phase, these worldly possessions keep shifting and changing hands."
History tells us that from day one Moawiya did not comply with any one of the terms of the treaty agreed upon between him and Imam Hasan (as) He trampled the treaty under his feet saying to the people of Kufa,”do you think I have taken power to teach you about Islam.
No, I have taken power for the sake of it and if any one of you tries to disagree with me shall pay a costly price of losing his head.(Taarikul Kholafa, Jalaluddin Soyuti)

Hajj Guide: House of the holy Prophet (s.a.)
![]() |
Door of the house of Sayyida Faatima Zahra (s.a.) |
This is the house for which suratud Dahr was revealed, the house where her unborn son Muhsin died and the house where Imam Hasan & Husain (pbut) were born.
In the middle portion it is said that there is the space for one grave- for Prophet Isa (a.s.) beside the prophet Mohammad (s.a.)
Directly beyond Sayyida Faatema Zahra's (a.s.) house is a platform where a group of Prophet's followers called 'Ahlul Suffa' used to stay. They were homeless. The Prophet used to sit and talk to them after Salatul Tahajjud. Follow his sunna by reciting Qur'an after salaah.

Madina, the City of Messenger of Allah
![]() |
Said to be Abu Ayyub Ansari's house in Madina |
Following the Hijra (migration) from the Makka to Madina, each resident wanted Messenger of Allah (s.a.) to stay with them. He said, he will stay wherever Kiswa (his camel) sits. Kiswa sits outside the house of Abu Ayyub Ansari (he was from the progeny of Tubba).
The place where Kiswa sat was designated as masjid and was bought from two orphans. This is the site of Masjidun Nabi (the 2nd masjid to be built. 1st was built in Quba on the way to Madina).
As soon as you see the city, remember that it the city of the Prophet (s.a.). You will be walking upon the very places where the prophet (s.a.) walked. You are in the city where Islam was established, the city where he still lives. Try to make no delay in going directly to the masjid.
Remember, that although you cannot visualise him in the physical world, it is he to whom you sent salaams to in every salaat (namaaz), he to who you owe your ne'ma (bounty)-ISLAM.
Raise your hopes in anticipation of meeting him. The city is called Madinatur Rasool.

Today 28th Safar: Martyrdom of the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.a.)
Juloos on this occasion at Irani Imambada, Pune (21/1/2012) |
In the last moments of his life a knock was heard on the door. Lady Fatemah told the caller to come later, because her father was very ill. However, the caller was insistent and kept on knocking. Lady Fatemah told him again to come later. When the third knock came, tears welled up in Lady Fatemah’s eyes, but her father said to her, “Oh Fatemah, let him in. For it is none other than the Angel of Death. It is only in respect of your presence that he is asking for permission to enter; otherwise he waits for nobody when he comes to take away the soul.”
Soon afterwards the signs of death began to appear on his face. The last sentence he spoke was, “No. With the Divine Companion.” It appears that at the time of his last breath the angel Gabriel gave him the option to recover from his illness and remain in this world or to allow the Angel of Death to remove his soul so that he may proceed with him (the Divine Companion) to the next world. The Holy Prophet uttered this sentence and passed away on Monday 28th Safar 11 AH. He was 63 years old.
Imam Hasan Mujtaba(A.S.) the elder son of Imam Ali(A.S.) and Hadrat Fatima Zahra(A.S.) was martyred by poisoning by his wife Jadah on 28th Safar 50 Hijrah and was buried at Jannat al-Baqi cemetery in the holy city of Madinah. Imam Hasan(A.S.) the Second Holy Imam of the Shi'ites in the world was Divinely gifted with all great qualities to such an extent that he was outstanding in knowledge, tolerance, intelligence, bounty and valour.
On this sad occassion, We present Our condolences to our living imam Imam-e-Zamana(a.s.),Muslim Ummah and all the lovers of the Holy Ahlul Bayt(A.S.).

Sheikh Usama Al Attar |
October 30 2011
Canadian-Iraqi scholar, Sheikh Usama Al Attar was detained in Medina, Saudi Arabia yesterday. Sheikh Usama Al Attar is the resident Alim of the Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri Association of Edmonton, member organization of NASIMCO and was on the annual pilgrimage, Hajj to Saudi Arabia.
The Canadian Broadcast Corporation reported the following:
"The attack took place at a cemetery in Medina early Sunday morning and was reportedly sparked when religious police approached an international group of pilgrims that included the imam, Usama Al-Atar of Edmonton. Witnesses said angry words were spoken, then things calmed down. That's when a single member of the religious police approached Al-Atar, offered to shake his hand and then called out to a group of men at a taxi stand. They rushed in and began beating Al-Atar, kicking him and attempting to throttle him, the witnesses said. Medina central police arrived, escorted the Canadian to a car and drove away, according to the witnesses. Several witnesses said the attack was unprovoked, CBC journalist Muhammad Lila wrote on his Twitter page."
NASIMCO is actively working with local and federal government officials towards the immediate release of Sheikh Usama Al Attar. Relevant leaders of our communities in Canada, Council of European Jamaats, Africa Federation and The World Federation officials are working in conjunction with NASIMCO to strengthen our efforts. Contact with the Canadian Ministry of Foreign affairs, local members of Parliament and media outlets are being established. Updates on the situation will be released as they become available.
(Please send protest emails to Saudi embassies and consulates in your country and show solidarity).

Martyrdom (Shahadat) of Imam Musa Kadhim (a.s.)
Imam Musa al-Kadhim (A) was such a blessed personality, that whosoever took his name as a wasila, they found that all their Dua were accepted. It is for this reason, that the people of Iraq referred to him as Baabul Hawaaij (The Door at which all their problems were answered). It was widely known that Imam Musa Ibn Ja’afar had been given powers of healing. Once he was passing by a house and heard little children weeping. He enquired as to why they were crying. He was told that they were orphans and their mother had just died and now they had no one to look after them. He went inside the house, made two prostrations and prayed to God for her life. Moments later the woman stood up well and in good health. People who saw this and cried out, "Behold it is Jesus son of Mary."
It is stated by Al-Fakhri that there were some of the relatives of Musa Ibn J’afar who were envious of him and carried false reports about him to Al-Rashid, saying, “The people paying him the Khums, or one fifth of the property, are accepting the Imamat and he is about to revolt against you”. They brought this report to Al-Rashid so frequently that it made him anxious and agitated. He gave the accuser some money to keep bringing him more information. But it is related through authentic sources that this relative of the Imam did not have the chance of enjoying that reward for espionage, for as soon as he reached Madinah, he suffered a serious illness and died from it. It was in that year that Al-Rashid went on the pilgrimage, and when he arrived in Madina, he arrested the Imam Musa Ibn Ja’afar, brought him to Baghdad and imprisoned him under the care of al-Sindi ibn Shahik. (Al-Fakhri-Ibnul Tiktika). This agrees with Majlisi’s comment in Bihar al Anwar that “Harun took him from Madina ten days from the end of the month of Shawwal 177 Hijiri. Then Harun set out for Makka and took the Imam with him when he returned to Basra and had him imprisoned with Issa. About one year later he was taken out of the Basran prison and taken to Baghdad. He was put in prison there under the watchful eye of the most cruel person named al-Sindi. Majlisi goes on to say that the Imam died in his prison and was buried in the cemetery of Qoraish on the south side of Baghdad.

Al-Fakhri adds,” Al-Rashid was at Rakka and sent orders that he should be put to death. They then brought a number of so called reputable men to Karkh to act as coroners and to testify publicly that the Imam died a natural death. The place he was buried was a cemetery of the Qoraish. But soon this place became the focus of pilgrimage on the grave of the Imam. A town grew around the grave yard. The name of the town became Kazimiya, the town of the Imam Kadhim (a.s.) A reputed school of theology was founded in this town which is still a source of learning for many students from all over the world.
In one of his Hadith he says:
Plants grow in plain, not rocky, lands. In the same way, wisdom will grow in the hearts of the modest, not the arrogant, because Allah has made modesty the instrument of the mind and made arrogance the instrument of ignorance. Tuesday, May 24, 2011
Celebrating the Wiladat of Lady Fatima Zahra (s.a.)
Ibn ˋAbbas narrates from the Prophet (S) that he stated:
“My daughter Fatima is the foremost of all the women of the world, past and future. She is a portion of me, the light of my eyes, the fruit of my heart and a spirit that resides in my body... Be witness that that I have granted her followers amnesty from the fire of hell.”
Her Birth
According to Shaykh al-Kulayni, Fatima Zahra was born 5 years after the appointment of the Prophet to his mission (bi’that). Shaykh al-Mufid places her birth at 2 years after the bi’that, and Shaykh al-Tusi has mentioned both dates. Accordingly, she lived for 8 or 11 years in Makka before she migrated to Madina, and according to Ya’qubi, two months after the hijra5, and according to Mas‟udi, in the second year of hijra, the Prophet married her to Ali b. Abu Talib.
Sunni scholars usually mention that she was born 5 years before the bi‟that, in the year that the Quraysh rebuilt the Ka‟ba. Some of them, like Hakim Nishaburi, have also mentioned that she was born a year after the bi‟that, when the Prophet was 41 years old. For detail

Wonderful Experience of Pilgrimage to Syria, Iraq & Iran
Shrine of Janabe Zainab (a.s.) |
It took us 30 hrs. to reach Damascus from Mumbai. The flight of Saudi Airlines was supposed to take-off from Sahaar Airport at 6.35 AM on Friday 15th April, delayed for 14 hrs. and were in transit at Riyadh Airport for another 8 hrs. while normally it takes 9 hrs. including transit, to travel from Mumbai to Damascus. The reason for delay was sandstorm in Madina and in the northern part of Saudi Arabia.
Most of the tour operators to save money travel by Air Arabia, a low fare airline. The airline does not serve free meals or water in the aircraft. Even a bottle of water comes at a cost. Passengers are not allowed to carry water in the aircraft due to security reasons. Syrian government issues paper visa to the visitors coming in groups or caravans.
We stayed at the Hotel Bina al-Qasim at Sayyeda Zainab, just 200 away metres from the holy shrine.

Shaikh al-Amree No More
Madina has lost one of its son today at 1.00 PM IST, Shaikh al-Amree. He was 138 years of Age and was one of the most respected Shia of Saudi Arabia. Every Shia Haji and Mo'tamar who visited Madina would not forget to visit him.
It is famous that he was one of the miracles of Imam-e-Zamana (a.s.). The governer of Madina had made him drop by the security in the desert from the helicopter, but, he returned home the next day without any scratch. After that the rulers never dared to touch him.
His garden in al-awaali locality of Madina is very famous for hospitality. A beautiful masjid is this garden with dates trees and flowing water. It is huge garden. It is famous as "Mazra" of Shaikh Amree. Daily lunch is hosted for the zaereen and is called, "Dastarkhwaan of Imam Hasan (a.s.)" by the Iranians. Shaikh Amree is already in the "jawaar" of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.). May Allah increase manifold the status of Shaikh in the next world. The Haaji will miss him in Madina. Click the below slide show
