Al Muntazar Ezine Vol 8 Issue 3 (Year 2020)

The Flag of Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance)
In Arabic the words, ‘Ra’yah’, ‘Liwaa’, ‘Alam’ etc. are terms used for flag. The author of Majma al-Bahrain has explained the terms ‘Ra’yah’ and ‘Liwaa’ thus: “Ra’yah means a big flag and Liwaa is other than this. Ra’yah is owned by a warrior and war is fought based on it and towards it is the end of the war as well.”
[Majma al-Bahrain, vol. 1, p. 199]
In the history of mankind the first flag was made by Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) as has been narrated by Imam Jafar Sadiq (peace be upon him):
“The first person who made a flag was Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him).”

Sayings of other infallible ones (peace be on them) about Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance)
The Messenger of Allah (peace be on him and his progeny) informed Janabe Zahra (peace be upon her):
“Dear daughter! We, the Ahle Bait, have been bestowed with seven things that no one has been granted before us. Our apostle is the best of the apostles, and he is your father. Our successor is the best of the successors, and he is your husband. Our martyr is the best of martyrs, and he is Hamzah[1], the uncle of your father. From us is the one who has two dyed wings, by which he glides in Paradise, and he is your cousin Ja’far. From us are the two grandsons of this Ummah, and they are your two sons Hasan and Husain (peace be upon them). And from us, by Allah and there is no God except Him, is the Mahdi of this Ummah, behind whom Isa Ibn Maryam (peace be upon them) will pray.” Read more

A Complete Submission
Submission can be analyzed in two ways here:
1. Apparent submission
2. Submission from the heart
Apparent submission means that a person submits on a topic superficially while he doesn’t
actually accept it from his heart. Rather, he would oppose this topic at the first available
opportunity. This has been mentioned in the Holy Quran as such: Read more

From the Desk of Hojjatul Islam, Mohammad al-Musawi (m,a,)

Imām Ja'far   al-Sādiq (a.s.) said:
“Three actions are the best;

  • People should receive complete justice from you so much so that you desire for them what you desire for yourself.
  • You must co-operate monetarily with your brothers in faith.
  • You must remember Allāh (s.w.t.) in every condition.

That remembrance is not merely Subhanallah (Glory be to Allāh) or Alhamdo Lillah (Praise be to Allāh), (it is remembering Allāh (s.w.t.), always). When some duty comes upon you which Allāh (s.w.t.) has ordered you must fulfill it, and when some prohibited act comes before you; leave it.”

Tomorrow May be the First Day of Rajab

Imām Mūsā ibn Ja‘far al-Kāzim (A.S.) said:
"Rajab is a river of Paradise whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. One who observes one fast in the month of Rajab, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime would satisfy him with this river."
[Reference: Sawaabul A’amaal & Iqaabul A’amaal, Page 84 ]

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq (A.S.) said:
“Nuh (a.s.) boarded his ark on the first of Rajab and ordered his companions to fast on that day. He said that Hell goes away to a distance of one year from one who fasts on this day. One who fasts for seven days all the seven doors of Hell would be closed for him. One who fasts for eight days all eight doors of Paradise would be opened for him. One who fasts for fifteen days would have his problems solved. One who fasts for more than this Allah, the Mighty and Sublime would grant him a greater reward."

(Thanks Baaqir)

Holy Prophet Muḥammad al Mustafā (S.A.W.W) said :
"...Know that if a faithful person fasts (in month of Rajab) seeking reward from Allāh he has gained lots of pleasure of Allāh The fast of that person would end the anger of Allāh upon him; a door of Hell would be closed for him. The reward of this fast with pure intention is better than giving an earth filled with gold as charity. No object in this world can make his reward complete except good deeds. As soon as night falls, Allāh would fulfill his ten wishes. If he prays for worldly life his prayers would be accepted. One who prays for His friends, lovers and chosen people, Allāh would accept his prayers...“
