Qatar Named as the Fattest Nation on Earth

Qatar, the richest nation on earth, is also the fattest with half of all adults obese and 17 per cent of the population suffering from diabetes.

By comparison America, which is often assumed to be the fattest, looks positively slim with a third of adults obese and eight per cent diabetic. 

Out of a population of 1.7million, just 250,000 are native Qataris, who, in the space of just two generations have switched from a tribal existence to living in air conditioned villas being waited on by armies of servants.

Qataris are developing diabetes a decade younger than average, which, in turn, is pushing up rates of illnesses like hypertension, partial paralysis, heart disease,  and blindness.

In recent years Qataris have developed a love of fast food with branches of KFC and McDonald's springing up in the many air conditioned malls. Full Story

There are literally thousands of princes in Saudi Arabia, but the host of this event was able to trace his lineage back to a direct ancestor of King Abdullah.

Plots have no effect on Iran-Arab ties

     

WikiLeaks website on Sunday released 250,000 classified US documents, some of which touch on issues ranging from US involvement in spying against the UN to the involvement of US embassies across the world in espionage activities.
Part of the documents also claimed that Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates had exhorted the US to attack Iran in   order to put an end to Iran's nuclear program.  Read Full Story

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the U.A.E." This is quite disturbing. If this was done for pure scientific, medical, or charitable purposes, I would have no qualms. But this is clearly for political purposes to win favors for the corrupt, polygamous royal families of the UAE. Also, can you imagine what that $150 million would have done for hospitals in the Middle East?

On the other side the distressed expats in UAE suffer and return to their homes empty handed.

The pains and sufferings of children of Gaza, Palestine has no value in the eyes of Rich Arabs of UAE where Wah-habis have a greater influence over the ruling class.
