Why Saudi is Following Israeli Policy

In the wake of the beheading of Ayatullah Baqir al-Nimr, the Middle East has quickly reshaped its political landscape. In response to the execution, Iranian protesters stormed Saudi embassies in Tehran and Mashhad, setting ablaze the office in its capital. While Iran arrested sixty individuals involved and even sacked its Tehran commander of special forces[1], Foreign Ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council met in Riyadh to issue a joint statement condemning the attacks as “terrorism” and accused Iran of “blatant interventions in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” Saudi Arabia immediately announced the severing of diplomatic ties giving Iranian staff 48 hours to leave. Five days later, a Saudi airstrike struck Iran’s embassy in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa injuring several staff.[2]

Whilst the violence and rhetoric between Riyadh and Tehran may have been a predictable outcome, what has been surprising is the response from countries without direct involvement in the latest Saudi-Iranian confrontation. First came the announcement from Bahrain, expeditious in following their closest Gulf ally by cutting diplomatic relations. This was swiftly followed by the UAE in downgrading its diplomatic representation. While Qatar and Kuwait recalled their ambassadors, Jordan summoned Iran’s ambassador to condemn the attack and “Iranian interference.”

Even more curious, however, was the reaction of several African states. Sudan, Somalia and the tiny Horn of Africa nation, Djibouti, also cut ties with Iran citing “solidarity with Saudi Arabia.” This unprecedented trans-continental “solidarity” has drawn distinctly little attention from political commentators, almost establishing its normalcy in the political world. Few questions have been raised such as ‘what reason do these countries have to involve themselves in the Saudi-Iranian dispute’ or ‘why was there no such reprimand against the Saudis after airstrikes on the Iranian embassy?’ The silence is deafening. And it’s not the first time in recent weeks a trans-continental alliance with Saudi Arabia as its pivot has been formed.

Creating Division between Shia & Sunnis

An article appeared today in Indian Express. An aim to divide the Muslim community of India. Some stray Shia sycophant personalities for material gains have been bootlicking of BJP communal leaders & politicians just for some posts in the government. They have no mass base in the Shia community.
----------------------------------------------
Following is the excerpt of the article. One can visit the website to read full.
Bukkal Nawab, sacrificing Hereafter for this temporary world

A curious friendship
Shia leaders are drawing closer to the Hindutva agenda in UP under Yogi Adityanath’s chief ministership

Ever since his election as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath has been cultivating the Shias, a minority within the Muslim minority, which relates uncomfortably to the Sunnis, as is evident from recurring tensions between the two groups. He first appointed a Shia, Mohsin Raza Naqvi, an ex-Congressman who had joined the BJP in 2014, in his government as his only Muslim minister, to hold the minority affairs portfolio. Most recently, he nominated two Shias for election to the Upper House in the state assembly and both of them became BJP MLCs on April 26. Besides Naqvi, Bukkal Nawab, formerly in the SP, had resigned from the legislative council to allow one of Yogi Adityanath’s deputy chief ministers, Keshav Prasad Maurya, who needed a seat to stay in government, to be elected. But before that, both Raza and Nawab visited temples and prayed before Hindu deities.

Only a few weeks earlier, in March, the other UP deputy chief minister, Dinesh Sharma, had been invited to the Shia-Sufi Unity Conference organised by Maulana Kalbe Jawad in Lucknow. In the press conference, representatives of Shias and Sufi Ulemas explained that while their two groups represented a majority of Indian Muslims, “a small minority” — that is, other Sunnis — claimed that it spoke in the name of Islam, in spite of the fact that Shias and Sufis were the first to oppose terrorism. Kalbe Jawad and a sufi cleric, Syed Hasnain Baqai, declared that they had received threats from an anonymous caller warning them not to speak against Wahabism and terrorism. At the conference, Dinesh Sharma stressed the need for reviving the Ganga-Jamuna culture, following the model of Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula, who had given equal land for Ram Lila and the Eidgah.

British Media's Islamophobic Reporting

Gary Jones has told the truth about the British media's Islamophobic reporting

The newly appointed editor of the Daily Express offered an honest account of his own paper's culpability in spreading hate and bigotry against Muslims. Other editors should follow suit.

That the British media is consistently Islamophobic is a well-researched and well-identified state of affairs. However, what is less expected is when a prominent newspaper editor is willing to make clear to a Parliamentary committee that this is precisely the case and that his own newspaper is culpable in spreading the hate, bigotry, and intolerance that feeds into a perpetual cycle.

Islamophobic reporting
On Tuesday, Gary Jones, the newly appointed editor of the Daily Express, told the Home Affairs Committee in Parliament that his newspaper had been creating an "Islamophobic sentiment" based on inaccurate and misguided reporting, with some stories that are "downright offensive".

AMU +2 Entrance Exam in other States

Such a huge attendance at the AMU +2 entrance exam at Patna, especially at the centre where I was sent as an observer, surprised me especially a large number of lower middle-class Muslim girls.
For Muslim girls from the remotest corner of Bihar, AMU is the safest place worried me a lot.
In the absence of quality education all over the Northern plain of India, in conformity with the Sharia, AMU has transformed into a centre of hope for Umma! May Allah protect AMU from 'nazar e bad.'

10 Minutes: Relentless Saudi War

The 10 most important ways to counter Europe's anti-Muslim narratives

The UK is "anything but Islamophobic", so spoke a Muslim organisation head in a comment to the press on the Islamophobia Awards in 2004. Because, he added, Britain has such a vibrant anti-war movement.

The awards – a satirical revue and fundraiser inspired by Amnesty International's Secret Policeman's Ball - were described that year by the then head of the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) as an important step to "fight bigotry and prejudice against Muslims". Both the Muslim organisation head and CRE head have now swapped positions, but this tale is instructive because of the more than one elephant in the room when talking about Islamophobia.

These "elephants" provide the backdrop to the latest report on the UK for the Counter-Islamophobia Toolkit project led by the University of Leeds. The report and those of the seven other countries in the project lists the 10 main counter-narratives (in each state) to Islamophobia being deployed or demanded by those concerned with addressing racism.

The 10 narratives come out of desk research but mainly interviews with over 180 activists, academics, journalists, politicians, religious figures and other actors across the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Czech Republic, Portugal and Hungary.

They are summarised here. A few will be referred to below in overviewing the recommendations to civil society, institutions and the state that the report has produced. Specifically, understanding the nature of the problem we face when it comes to anti-Muslim hatred, and then how to counter it, who should counter it and indeed why we (any of us) should.

1. What's the problem?

Did Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) recite the Shahaadatain?

The enemies of the Ahle Bait (a.s.) – also known as Nasibis – have circulated several myths over the years right from the time of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.).

One of these myths is that Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) – the father of Ameerul Momineen Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) and the uncle of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) – did not recite the dual testimony of Tauheed and Nobuwwat (Shahadatain) in his lifetime. At least they can’t trace the dual testimony in their books.

Minus the testimony, he is assumed to have died on apostasy and is consigned to Hellfire (Allah forbid) – according to their definition of Islam and faith.

Reply

Hazrat Abu Talib’s (a.s.) unwavering faith is a topic that was settled centuries ago and even the Ahle Tasannun have recorded his merits, sayings and poetic verses that signify his Islam and faith.

However, the Nasibi skeptics as is their wont, do not care for the numerous ways Abu Talib (a.s.) has obliged Islam and the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.).

All they are interested in knowing is whether or not Abu Talib (a.s.) recited the dual testimony.

Since the argument raised by the skeptics has been narrowed down to just this one subject of the verbal testimony of faith, we address this specific point here and will not delve on the numerous occasions on which Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) has given irrevocable proof of his unwavering faith.

Our response on the subject of verbal testimony is in the form of another question.

Was it necessary for Abu Talib (a.s.) to testify verbally in Tauheed and Nobowwat?

Cinema Theater in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — The audience strolled down the red carpet, fetched their popcorn and soda and filed into the cinema for a night at the movies.
It was a sight common around the world. But in the capital of ultraconservative Saudi Arabia, it was a watershed moment: the first opening of a commercial movie theater in more than 30 years.
The invitation-only screening of the Hollywood blockbuster “Black Panther” on Wednesday was part of a wider social opening in the kingdom championed by the 32-year-old crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman.

The Silence of the PM

The New York Times in an editorial on Tuesday (17 April 2018) said such and other violent incidents were part of "an organized and systematic campaign by nationalist forces" to terrorise women, Muslims, and Dalits in the country.
The editorial titled "Silence as Women Are Attacked" appeared on in the New York edition of the daily, reminding how Modi tweets "frequently and considers himself a talented orator".
"Yet he loses his voice when it comes to speaking out about the dangers faced by women and minorities who are frequent targets of the nationalist and communal forces that are part of the base of his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)," said the Times.

Pope apologizes on behalf of Catholics who use prostitutes

Pope Francis has asked society for forgiveness on behalf of Catholic men who exploit prostitutes, which he branded as “torture,” “slavery” and a “crime against humanity” that stems from a “sick mentality.”

The pope made the comments during an open question-and-answer session in Rome. Blessing Okoedion, a Nigerian woman who was forced into becoming a prostitute on the streets of Italy, told the pope that many ‘clients’ of prostitutes in Rome were Catholic.

"I ask myself and I ask you, is it possible for a Church that is still too male chauvinist to be able to question itself truthfully about this high demand by clients?" she said.
Francis agreed it was likely that 90 percent of Italian men who seek prostitutes are Catholics and said he would like to “ask forgiveness” from exploited women and society in general for “this criminal act.”

“I think of the disgust these young women must feel when these men make them do anything… I ask for forgiveness for all the Catholics who commit this criminal act,” said Francis. “It’s slavery.”

The pontiff said he believes that sexual exploitation of women stems from a “sick mentality” in people, and called it a “crime against humanity.” He also noted that “there is no feminism that has been able to take this out of the unconsciousness” in societal thought.

“It is a sickness of humanity, a sickness of looking at society in a certain way, a crime against humanity...If a young person has this custom, he should drop it,” the pope said, referring to paying for sex.
