What is GHADEER e KHUM

A huge caravan of nearly one hundred thousand Muslims alongwith the Prophet (S.A) and his Ahlul Bayt was returning to Medina after the "Hajjatul Widaa."

When they reached Ghadeer-ul-Khum a place between Madinah and Makkah the Holy Prophet (S.A) ordered a hält to the marching Caravan called back those who had gone ahead and waited for those who we're coming behind.

He had received the following verse from Allah:

  

"O Our Messenger Delivered what has been sent down unto you from your Lord and it you do not then (it will be as if ) you have Not delivered His Message at all and surely Allah will protect you from (the mischief )of men. (Holy Quran 5:67)

A tall pulpit of the "Kajawas" (seat used for sitting on the back of the camel) was put up.

The Holy Prophet (S.A) mounted the pulpit and delivered a long sermon recounting his Service towards the fulfilment of his mission as the Messenger of Allah (S.A).

 He asked the audience if he had conveyed to them the commands of Allah, enumerating them one after another. The huge gathering said "Yes" in one voice.

Then he said:

"Do I wied authority .over your souls more than you do?"

"Certainly it is so O Messenger of Allah ". they said in one voice.

He asked Maula Ali to come up and said:

"O men and women! Allah is my Maula (Lord Master) I am the Maula (Lord Master) of the believers. I exercise authority over their souls more than they do and whomsoever I am the Maula Ali is his Maula. O Allah! Be Thou a friend of him who is friend of Ali,

be Thou an enemy of him who is an enemy of Ali.

Help him who helps him, forsake him who forsakes Ali."

At the end of this declaration, the following verse was revealed,

"This day I have perfected for you, your religion and have completed my favour on you, and have chosen for you Islam (to be) the Religion. . (Holy Quran 5:3)

Then the Holy Prophet (S.A) commanded everyone to pay allegiance to Mawla Ali (A.S) as "Ameerul Momineen " a title used by the messenger of Allah for the first time.

According to Imam Ja'fer Sadiq (A.S) the day of Ghadeer is a day of rejoicing for all Muslims an addition to Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Adh'aa

It is highly rewarding to be in Najaf Ashraf today for performing the Ziarat of Imam Ali ibne Abi Talib (A.S).

Give today as much as you can in the name of Allah to the less fortunate because the day of Ghadeer is particularly specified for helping deserving and needy people.

Human Rights in Bahrain

A prominent human rights activist who already faced up to 15 years in prison for Twitter posts has now been hit with another charge after writing publicly about his Kafkaesque case.

Detained Bahraini activist Nabeel Rajab published an op-ed in The New York Times on Sunday titled “Letter from a Bahraini Jail” (a play on Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1963 “Letter from Birmingham Jail”).

The Gulf monarchy Bahrain, a close U.S. ally, “is a country that has subjected its people to imprisonment, torture and even death for daring to desire democracy,” Rajab wrote. “No one has been properly held to account for systematic abuses that have affected thousands.” Full Story

Dozens of U.S. Airstrikes in Six Countries

While Americans savored the last moments of summer this Labor Day weekend, the U.S. military was busy overseas as warplanes conducted strikes in six countries in a flurry of attacks. The bombing runs across Asia, Africa and the Middle East spotlighted the diffuse terrorist threats that have persisted into the final days of the Obama presidency — conflicts that the next president is now certain to inherit.

In Iraq and Syria, between Saturday and Monday, the United States conducted about 45 strikes against Islamic State targets. On the other side of the Mediterranean, in the Libyan city of Sirte, U.S. forces also hit fighters with the militant group. On Sunday in Yemen, a U.S. drone strike killed six suspected members of ­al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. The following day, just across the Gulf of Aden in Somalia, the Pentagon targeted al-Shabab, another group aligned with ­al-Qaeda. The military also conducted several counter terrorism strikes over the weekend in Afghanistan, where the Taliban and the Islamic State are on the offensive.

Militants in each of those countries have been attacked before, but the convergence of so many strikes on so many fronts in such a short period served as a reminder of the endurance and geographic spread of al-Qaeda and its mutations. Read Full

Saudi Reports 5 Divorces per Hour

Nearly 127 divorces happen each day in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This makes it to five divorces per hour.

The reported revealed by the General Authority of Statistics stated that 157,000 marriages were registered in the court over the past year. However, 46,000 divorces were also reported during the said period.

Stating that 60 per cent of divorces take place in the first year of marriage, The chairperson of the Board of Directors of Mawadah Charitable Organization, Princess Sarah bint Musaed had earlier revealed that a quarter of marriages on Saudi Arabia end in divorce. Read Full

Why Iran stood with Erdogan

As July 15 was coming to an end in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was on the phone with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, whose government was under the threat of being overthrown by a military coup. Meanwhile, Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), was on another line with security officials in Ankara. All the while, Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, Iran’s regional military arm, was busy pursuing and reviewing various scenarios that might emerge.
“It’s not a secret anymore,” an Iranian official told Al-Monitor on condition of anonymity. “Zarif, Shamkhani and Soleimani were executing higher orders. The whole establishment was too concerned. Turkey is a neighboring state. President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan and his government are strong partners of Iran. Our nations enjoy strong brotherly ties, so it’s the least we can do to show solidarity and try to offer any help they might need in such critical times.”

Within hours after the coup attempt began late July 15, the SNSC convened to discuss developments in Turkey. Following the meeting, which was chaired by President Hassan Rouhani, Shamkhani publicly condemned the coup attempt, telling local media outlets, “We support Turkey's legal government and oppose any type of coup — either [initiated] domestically or supported by foreign sides.” Shamkhani said, “What determined the fate of developments in Turkey were the will and presence of the [Turkish] nation and the vigilance of political parties, whose contribution thwarted this coup. Shamkhani concluded, “Our stance is not exclusive to Turkey either. We have pursued the same stance in Syria too. Our position toward all regional countries is that we always prefer people's votes [to decide governments] rather than tribal, sectarian and hereditary governments, and this means democracy." Turkey’s Secret Pact with Islamic State Exposed

New evidence has emerged that the Turkish government under President Erdogan is covertly providing direct military, financial and logistical support to ISIS, even while claiming to fight the terror network.

The evidence comes in the form of testimony from an ISIS terrorist captured by Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, widely recognised as the most effective force confronting ISIS on the ground.

The testimony has been reported by two Kurdish news agencies, the Syrian-Kurdish Harwar News Agency (ANHA) based in Rojava, and the Turkish-Kurdish Ajansa Nûçeyan a Firatê (Firat News Agency or ANF News). The latter’s head office is based in Amsterdam.

Websites of both news agencies are blocked in Turkey.

Interviews with the ISIS fighter, captured by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), reveal that Turkish military and security forces are facilitating ISIS operations within Syria, as well as ISIS terrorist attacks inside Turkey.

The new testimony corroborates similar claims made by other former and active ISIS members, as well as Western and Middle East intelligence sources.

Yet Turkey is a leading member of the NATO alliance. And while the Western members of NATO have gathered mounting intelligence confirming Turkey’s sponsorship of ISIS, they have refused to act on this intelligence. Read Full Story

Rehmatabad, Mumbai's Oldest Graveyard of Shia Ithna Asharis

In the old city of Mumbai, there exists a century old cemetery in Mazgaon area, managed by a trust of Iranian descent. Buried in this graveyard are the legends of Mumbai Shia Community.
This cemetery is buzzing around the year with religious activities. May it is Azadaari or Wiladat and Shahadat celebration and commemoration of 14 infallible Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) or martyrs of Karbala.
Three major processions during Moharram, Safar and Rabiul Awwal terminate in this place known as Rehmatabad. 
Majalis are held regularly all around the year. A Majlis is a must before every funeral prayer (Namaaz-e-Janaza). 
Many prominent personalities are buried in this graveyard. Among them is marhum Shaikh Ismail Rajabi, the dynamic Moghul Masjid (Masjid-e-Iranian) prayer leader (Imam-e-Jama't).
Recently, governor of Jharkand and Mizoram, Janab Sayyed Ahmad (Mazloom) was buried with full state honours.
Many more Olama, scholars, businessmen, Zaakireen, tycoons are resting in peace in this piece of land.
Even a yesteryear star of Bollywood Meena Kumari is buried amongst the believers of Mumbai in this Qabrastan.
A famous saying of Imam Ali (a.s.); "Visit graveyard whenever you are deep in sorrow or too happy."
One should visit this Qabrastan when one feels lonely, it will be great solace for him.

Occupiers Settlement Activities

European Parliament urges end to Israel's settlement activities, occupation

A delegation of the European Parliament (EP) for relations with Palestine has called for an immediate end to Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories as well as the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements and demolition of Palestinian homes.

Denouncing Israeli “occupation policies” in a press statement, the delegation chairwoman, Martina Anderson, said, “The expansion of settlements, demolitions, forcible transfers and evictions must stop immediately,” Palestinian media reported on Saturday.

“Palestinians need hope, freedom and human rights. The way to these is by ending the occupation,” the statement said.

The delegation, which was on a four-day official visit to the occupied West Bank, also slammed the Israeli regime for the increasing number of demolitions of humanitarian structures financed by the European Union.

“People are losing their homes in the cold and the rain. Israeli policies violate international law and show disrespect for the EU, Israel's biggest trade partner,” Anderson said. Read Full
