Ayatollah Sistani's office reported in a statement directed to the Head of Najaf Provincial Council received by Iraq News Agency''We have noticed in few cases that the photos of the Supreme Religious Authority, Ali al-Sistani, are hanged on walls of some governmental institutions, such as your offices, and public areas, thus we would like to assure our pervious appeals not to hang the photos on walls of public areas.''

The Issue of School Dropouts in North India

The increasing number of dropouts from schools and colleges is not a local problem but it is prevalent globally.
This was said by Prof Ahmad Ali of BBD during a seminar on ‘Responsibility of parents in children’s education and reasons for dropouts in higher education’ organised by Anjuman Wazifa-e-Sadaat at Imambada Gufraanmaab.
Prof Ahmad said that in Muslims, the dropout rate was around 25 per cent which was a grave situation. “In such a case, we need to find out a solution before it is too late. In 2009, Central Government came up with Right to Education (RTE) which was implemented in most of the states by 2011. This law provides for free education to children in the age group of 6-14 years,” he said.
Citing poverty as the reason for increasing number of dropouts, he said there were a number of cases where schoolgoing children had to leave school after class IV to VI.
“These children start working in shops and workshops to help their family financially.There are some welfare organisations which compensate the families so that children can attend school and get education,” he said.
Member of Anjuman Maulana Syed Zahid Husain said: “We have been working for the welfare of poor students by providing small aid to them for acquiring education.” Anjum Hasnain, Nasir Husain, Ainul Raza, Muzammil Abbas and others were present on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering,senior auditor in Basic Education department Asghar Mahdi said that people should be encouraged to acquire education.“Government has been providing help but still people lag behind due to lack of awareness. People, especially those belonging to the Muslim community,should focus on the education of their children and engage them in the area of their interest,” he said.
“As per recent reports from Ministry of HRD, the dropout rate in the country was 26 lakh in which 10 lakh was in the state. We all should fix targets of education so that children can pursue the same subject in higher education too,” he added.

The issue of allowing women to drive cars in the Kingdom has become a vortex wherein the proponents of the move have come to be accused as morally corrupt, a leading female Shoura Council member has said.
Talking to Okaz/Saudi Gazette here on Friday, Dr. Thoraya Obaid said she was astonished at the way false accusations are being leveled against anyone who talks about granting women permission to drive.
“Is it the only crucial issue facing the government and Saudi society. Is it the issue which involves international security that need to be under continuous focus of the world,” she wondered. This is basically a social issue as Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has said, she added.
“Driving is as important to men as it is for women. In fact, I was trained as a driver by my late brother Ibrahim even before I graduated. This does not mean that I became independent of my family,” she said. Full Story

Driving “could have a reverse physiological impact. Physiological science and functional medicine studied this side [and found] that it automatically affects ovaries and rolls up the pelvis. This is why we find for women who continuously drive cars their children are born with clinical disorders of varying degrees,” Sheikh al-Luhaydan said.

The Dark Side of Saudi Petro-dollars

The scope and depravity of Saudi sponsored violence in the world is enormous and yet hard to spot. Saudi oil money seems to turn up in many places where terrorist violence stains the ground with blood from innocent civilians. “Everyone can live here, that is the law, as long as they understand this is a Jewish city,” Gafsou said. “And in that way we are a microcosm of the state of Israel.”

Bandar bin Sultan is the director general of the Saudi Intelligence Agency. In that capacity, he has earned a well-deserved reputation as the “Prince of Terrorists.”
According to the Wall Street Journal, Bandar is leading the rebel forces trying to overthrow the Syrian government. Many analysts consider Bandar a prime suspect in the apparent false-flag chemical weapons attack in al-Ghouta. 
Adam Entous of the Wall Street Journal says that Prince Bandar and his Saudi Intelligence Agency manufactured “evidence” that the Syrian government had used sarin gas prior to the al-Ghouta attack. 
Entous stated during a Democracy Now interview: “Bandar’s intelligence agency concluded that chemical weapons were being used on a small scale by the regime. Followed by that, the Brits and the French were convinced of the same conclusion. It took US intelligence agencies really until-until June to reach that conclusion.” 
In other words, Bandar used his money, clout, and connections to make sure that “the intelligence would be fixed around the policy” - just like Bush did with the alleged Iraqi WMDs in 2003. Full Story

Imam Reza(AS)'s Assistance to a Pilgrim
Date of Healing: 14th Zill Hujjah, 1107 A.H. (1686 AD)
In 1686, a pilgrim of the holy shrine of Imam Reza(AS) from Qandahar was robbed by highway thieves on his way to Mashhad. They had looted all his belongings and when he was defending himself they had badly injured his shoulder too. Due to this injury he had lost the motor nerves of his hand leaving it totally paralyzed. He had visited many doctors hoping to recover the mobility of his hand and they had done their best to help him but their efforts had born no fruit for the poor Qandahari pilgrim.

He, then visited the blessed shrine of Imam Reza(AS) and started crying. Then with a broken heart he had pleaded to the Holy Imam(AS): "O beloved Imam who got martyred far away from home! I'm your pilgrim, and I too far away from my home! Please help me and heal my hand as I will have lots of problems living without it till the end of my life. While he was praying and reciting the pilgrimage supplications he suddenly noticed that he had been moving his hand without even noticing how easily he did so! He then cried and thanked the Holy Imam(AS).

Stupidity of Al Azhar University, Cairo

An Al-Azhar student faces investigation for being Shi’a

A female student at the Al-Azhar College for Girls in Assiut is facing an investigation to ascertain if she is a Shi’a or not.

Mahmoud Shehata, dean of the college, confirmed on Monday that the student has been referred to the legal affairs department. He added that if she is found to be a Shi’a then legal action will be taken against her, according to state-affiliated news agency Al-Ahram.

Shehata also confirmed that the director of the girl’s dormitories Magda Thabit has been relieved of her duties following complaints filed by a number of students, reported Al-Ahram.

Darul Iman Jamia Masjid Qurtuba’s story is as dramatic as the sectarian history of Pakistan. The newly-built mosque in Islamabad’s Margalla foothills is calling upon its followers to stop discriminating along sectarian lines and to start praying together – in whichever way they like – under the same roof.

Zahid Iqbal is a local businessman who conceptualised the idea of a sect-free mosque in 2010. He bought the mosque plot in the E-11 sector. But the road to the realisation of his dream wasn't easy: At first, authorities refused to register it as a sect-free mosque. Under Capital Development Authority rules, every mosque has to declare its sect following, before being granted permission to build the mosque.

Spreading the Brotherhood Through Water Bottle

Birmingham: One often goes to an India-Pakistan match expecting aggressive behaviour from supporters of both teams.
The animosity between the two countries is well known as both countries have fought battles very often. But it was a pleasant feeling at Edgbaston, when, as I got out of my taxi, I was offered a bottle of water by a group of ladies with the message “treat your neighbours as if they were your family”.
These are words from Hussain ibn Ali who lived in 620 AD and served as a role model for people promoting compassion and generosity. The message urges everyone to visit the website www.whoishussain.org.
An Indian fan, who was being given a bottle, was heard asking a lady: Is this Indian water or Pakistan water? To which the lady replied: “It is a bottle of water from people who want peace in this world and wishes everyone lives as a family and not enemies.”
Flags and caps of both the nations were sold separately. Interestingly, a Pakistani was seen selling Indian flags. He was wearing a Pakistan cap to express his support. When asked why he was selling Indian flags, he said: “My brother is selling for the Pakistan fans, and for us it does not matter who buys it as long as we are able to meet our fans’ demands,” he said.
As I was walking towards the stadium entrance, I could hear silent whispers: “Want a ticket for 300?” Incidentally, despite the match being of mere statistical importance, tickets were still being sold by touts since the majority of matches were sold out within three hours of release last month.
The atmosphere outside was so electrifying that at the media gate a volunteer was heard asking Sami Ul Hassan, the International Cricket Council’s Media and Communications Manager: “Why don’t you organise an India-Pakistan match every year here. It feels so good.”
When I entered the stadium there was bright sunlight, and when I remarked it was a wonderful day, a volunteer warned: “Please don’t trust the English weather.” This volunteer who hails from Hyderabad in India, has been living in England for the last 14 years.
“I was really surprised when we had such bright sunshine for the England-Australia match here. For a while I wondered whether I am really in England,” he added.
Inside the stadium the crowd kept chanting the names of their country loudly right from the start. In the press box, Indian and Pakistan reporters were given front rows and neutral country reporters like me and those from Sri Lanka and England occupied the back row of the packed press box. Egypt 'Will Not Turn Its Back' on US

Deputy Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood Rashad al-Bayoumi stressed that under President Mohammed Morsi, Egypt will not turn its back on the United States; however, at the same time, it wants to deal with the United States based on a mutual relationship, far removed from the policy of "leader and subordinate" that prevailed under the previous regime. 

Al-Monitor:  The Israeli flag is still waving in Cairo and the Camp David Accords have gone untouched. How can this be reconciled with your traditional position of opposition to Israel? Is this a cause of concern for you, and has it not led to a decline in your popularity among your support base?

Bayoumi:  We must differentiate between sincere feelings and emotions and political behavior and facts on the ground, which demand more wisdom and patience. We in the Muslim Brotherhood reject the Camp David Accords, and have never changed our position on this. It is an agreement that subjugates Egypt to Israel, and requires that we submit to the latter's conditions. 

This was proven when it was revealed that Egypt was exporting gas to Israel for below-market prices and Egypt was prevented from arming its soldiers in the Sinai Peninsula. 

However, we are convinced that the agreement is governed by international laws and political considerations. Thus, we in the Muslim Brotherhood cannot cancel it with the single stroke of a pen. This, however, does not mean that we are unable to conduct political amendments from time to time whenever they are in the interest of Egypt. Yet, this requires that we wait until the election of a new parliament, because parliament is the final authority capable of undertaking these amendments we are calling for.

Al-Monitor:  President Morsi's position has fluctuated throughout the Syrian crisis. At times, he has expressed his support for the uprising, while at other times he has coordinated with Iran and Russia to find a political solution. This has provoked criticism from the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood. Why has Egypt maintained this middle position, and what role can you play in finding a solution to the Syrian crisis?

Bayoumi:  I won't hide the fact that I've recently met with a group from the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood and explained to them that Egypt's position on the need for President Bashar al-Assad to step down has not changed. This, however, requires that we make serious efforts [to coordinate] with supporters of the regime in Iran and Russia to stop the bloodshed there. The bloody scene in the country is no longer bearable, and there is no visible end in sight to the tunnel of massacres that are currently taking place. 

Furthermore, no one — including us in the Muslim Brotherhood — expected that the Syrian revolution would continue for all this time. While the Tunisian and Egyptian revolutions lasted a few weeks, and the Libyan revolution lasted a few months, the Syrian crisis has worsened in a dreadful way that exceeded all estimates. In particular, there has been growing sectarian strife and ethnic divisions. 

Again, I can assure you — just as I assured our Syrian brothers — President Morsi's position hasn't changed. [This position] starts with Assad stepping down, along with efforts to mitigate the people's suffering. 

Al-Monitor:  The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has strong ties with Qatar and Iran, and maintains peace with Israel. Does this mean that Egypt believes in maintaining friendly relations with all parties in order to be a regional player that can influence the stability of the Middle East? How do you envision its role in this troubled region?

Bayoumi:  It's important that everyone knows that Egypt is not a toy in anyone's hands, and Egypt doesn't seek to dominate anyone. Therefore, our relationship with Qatar is based on Egypt's appreciation for Doha's noble position and commendable support. [Qatar] stood beside the Egyptian people during the popular revolution, with that having consequences on reciprocal policies between the two countries. 

As for Israel, we don't have relations with it, with the exception of the Camp David Accords. We respect [Camp David] because it is an international agreement, without striving to develop this relationship. 

As for Iran, I invite those who criticize our relationship with Tehran to go to Saudi Arabia and see the number of Iranian pilgrims who visit every year. Also, there are seven daily flights between the United Arab Emirates and Iran. I lived [in the UAE] for five years and Dubai, to me, seems like Tehran, given the large number of Iranians there. 

Our relations with Iran are normal political relations. I see no justification for the fears that emerge from time to time about the spread of Shiism in Egypt, because the Egyptian people are aware of this issue.  Click for Full interview

"Hujr ibn Adii Al Kindi [ra] was a pious companion of the Prophet (saws) and played a vital role in the correction of the Ummah. During Muawiyah's reign when the custom of cursing Imam Ali (a.s.) {the best companion and son-in-law of Prophet Mohammad (s.a.)} from the pulpit's of Mosques began, hearts of the Muslims were being bled dry but people bit their tongues fearing death. In Kufa Hujr ibn Adi could not remain silent and he began to praise Ali (a.s) and condemn Muawiyah.
Until Mughaira remained the Governor of Kufa, he adopted a lenient attitude towards this, but when Ziyad's Governorship of Basra was extended to include Kufa, serious altercations arose. He would curse Ali (a.s) during the khutbah and Hujar would refute him.
On one occasion he (Hujr) warned Ziyad for being late for Friday prayers. Ziyad then arrested him along with twelve of his companions on false accusations of forming an opposition group to overthrow the Khalifa and was cursing the Khalifa. He also gathered witnesses to testify against them alleging that they claimed that khilafat was the exclusive right of the lineage of `Ali ibne Abi Talib and further accused them of creating an uproar, throwing out the commander and of supporting `Abu Turab Ali, of sending blessings upon him and hating his enemies. From amongst these witnesses, Qadi Shudhri's testimony was used. He later wrote to Muawiyah that the blood and property of people who said they offered Salaah, paid zakaat, and performed Hajj and Umrah, preached right and declared that evil was haram, however if you want to kill them so be it, otherwise forgive them.
The accused were sent to Muawiyah and he sentenced them to death. A condition was placed that if they cursed `Ali (a.s) and showed their hatred to him they would be pardoned. They refused and Hujr ibn Adii said `I will not say that thing that will displease Allah'.
Finally Hujr ibn Adii, his son Humaan ibn Hujar and his seven companions were murdered. From amongst them Abdur Rahman bin Hasan was sent back to return with a written instruction that he be murdered in the worst possible manner, Ziyad buried him alive."

They belong to the murderers, who are killing people and are trying to ruin all the sacred places and if they can ruin and put under rubble the Ka’ba there would not be a shortage from that.

Extreme Torture in Hell

O Kumail! Let those who are not in Paradise be ready for the extreme torture in Hell, everlasting disgrace, shackles, bridles, long chains, large pieces of fire, neighbourhood of every devil, purulent drinks, clothes made of iron, harsh guards, blazing fire, and closed and locked doors. The inmates of Hell will be screaming, but, will not be answered; they will call for help but there will be no mercy shown to them.
They will say, "O Malik, would that your Lord put an end to us."
Malik will respond, "Verily you are to stay. Verily We brought to you the truth, but most of you despised the truth" (43:77-78).

O Kumail! I swear to Allah that we are the truth to which Allah refers by saying, "And were the truth to follow their whims, certainly the heavens and the earth and all those that are in them would have been ruined" (23:71). 

O Kumail! After staying in Hell for a long period, the inmates of Hell will call Allah, the owner of the Holy names, and ask, "Is there any hope for us?"
And Allah will reply, "Remain condemned in it, and speak not to Me" (23:108).

O Kumail! Then they will lose hope of ever escaping and their sorrow will increase. At this point they will be sure of their destruction for what they earned with their deeds and they will be tortured. Read More

Virtues of Faatemah Zahra (s.a.) as per the Scholars of Ahle Sunnat

Ibne Maghaazali Shaafe’ee, in his book Manaaqib, pg 399, has documented a tradition from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.): By the Almighty, who made me a Prophet, that you O’ (Faatemah (a.s.)) are the leader of all women in both worlds i.e. in this world, and the hereafter.

Many more traditions of this nature have been mentioned by Sunni scholars like Allamah Shahaabuddin Aalusi in Tafseer al-Maani, book 3, pg 155, Shaafe’ee in Seerah al-Halabi book 2, pg 6, as also by Suyuti, Muqrezi, Mannaawi, Ibn Abil Hadeed Motazali, Ahmed Zaini Vehlaan, Shaafe’ee Mufti Misri.

Allamah Ibne Maghaazali in Manaaqib page 37 states from Nasr b. Ali who relates on the authority of Imam Moosa al-Kaazim (a.s.), and he on the authority of his immaculate forefathers (a.s.), and they on the authority of Ameerul Momineen (a.s.), who quotes from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) who will holding the hands of Hasan (a.s.) and Husain (a.s.) informed:

He, who befriends these two, their father and their mother, will enjoy my stature in Paradise.

Khateeb-e-Baghdaadi had stated that when Nasr b. Ali, stated this tradition, Mutawakkil ordered a punishment of two lashes. When Mutawakkil’s agents were beating him, Jafar b. Abdul Waahid inquired from Mutawakkil why they were beating him as he (Nasr) was a Sunni. Nasr was then let off. (Taarikh-e- Baghdaad, book 13, pg 288)

Highly respected theologian Haafiz Mohib al-Deen al-Tabari, in his book titled Zakhaaer al-Uqba pg 56, has a recorded a tradition wherein the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) addressed Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) (a.s.), greeting him by the title – O Father of two fresh and blossoming Flowers, shortly, both your two pillars will go.

When Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) passed away, Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) said – Of the two pillars, this was one. Shortly thereafter when Hazrat Faatemah (a.s.) passed away, he (a.s.) said this was the second pillar.

Foreign Journalists not Allowed in Qatif

Big protests erupted in Qatif in early 2011, inspired by the Arab Spring uprisings sweeping the region and feelings of solidarity with Shias in neighboring Bahrain. These drew Qatif into a region-wide contest for influence between Shia Muslim Iran and Sunni Arab states such as Saudi Arabia.

Most Saudis adhere to the rigid Wahhabi school of Sunni Islam that deems Shi'ism as heretical, and some members of the majority fear the Qatif Shias' first loyalty is to Iran rather than their own kingdom.

By contrast, the Shias proclaim their loyalty to Riyadh and say they want an end to what they regard as neglect amidst the oil wealth of Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province where they live.

Awamiyah became known across the country as Saudi media reported on what it simply called "rioting" in the village and the surrounding Qatif district.

After several months of relative calm, some residents fear more unrest resulting in a police crackdown. This follows the arrest of 16 Shias accused of spying for Iran and the first hearing in the trial of an Awamiyah cleric who may face execution.

"The government is dealing with this as a security threat, not as a political issue. Shia demands are not big. They are achievable and for not much cost," said Jafar al-Shayeb, a Shia community leader and former elected head of Qatif municipality. Read Full Story

Shia Isna Ashari Graveyard Inaugurated at Mulund

Yesterday the Shia Isna Ashari graveyard named as "Qabrastan-e-Baqie" was inaugurated. Belivers from the different localities of Mumbai came to witness it.Many city Anjumans also reached the venue by chartered buses. Many social and political personalities attended this historical function.
Minster of Maharashtra Mr. Mohammad Naseem Khan delivered an encouraging speech. Dr. Sayed Akhtar Hasan Rizvi gave his inaugural speech and said that after Independence the Shia Isna Ashari Community has their own graveyard. Uptil now we were relying on Iranian Cemetery, Rehmatabad at Mazgaon in South Bombay. He also gave the news that 3-4 are coming up soon at Kalyan, Vasai, Govandi and Juhu.
This cemetery will be maintained by Zainabia Trust and will also be managed by it.
Hujjatul Islam Maulana Sayed Hasnain also spoke on this occasion reminded that every person will have an ultimate return over here, none can escape death.
A lady was laid to rest at the venue inaugurating this graveyard. The function ended on namaaz with jama'at.

Khamsa at Khoja Jaam'e Masjid on Ayyam-e-Fatemi

From tonight immediately after namaaz-e-Maghrib daily for 5 days Majalis will be held at Bandra Khoja Jaam'e Masjid, Bazar Road, Bandra (w).
Hujjatul Islam Maulana Zulfiqar Mahdi Sahab will be the speaker. This Khamsa (5 Majalis) is held every year on the days of the shahadat of Hadhrat Fatema Zahra (s.a.), the only daughter of the holy Prophet (s.a.) of Islam. 
Jafri Propagation Centre is video recording these majalis. Anybody likes have a DVD can contact them. Their office is just opposite the Masjid itself.
