Niyyat of Fasting: 30th Sha'baan or 1st of Ramadhan

1559. It is not necessary for a person to pass the niyyat for fasting through his mind or to say that he would be fasting on the following day. In fact, it is sufficient for him to decide that in obedience to the command of Allah he will not perform from the time of Adhan for Fajr prayers up to Maghrib, any act which may invalidate the fast.
And in order to ensure that he has been fasting throughout this time he should begin abstaining earlier than the Adhan for Fajr prayers, and continue to refrain for some time after sunset from acts which invalidate a fast.
1560. A person can make niyyat every night of the holy month of Ramadhan that he would be fasting on the following day, and it is better to make niyyat on the first night of Ramadhan that he would fast throughout that month.
1577. If one doubts whether it is the last day of Sha'ban or the first day of Ramadhan then the fast on that day is not obligatory. If however, somebody wants to observe fast on that day he cannot do so with the intention of observing the Ramadhan fast, but if he makes an intention that if it is Ramadhan then it is the Ramadhan fast and if it is not Ramadhan then it is qadha fast or some other fast like that, his fast will be valid.
But it is better to observe the fast with the intention of qadha fast or some other fast, and if it is known later that it was Ramadhan then it will automatically be Ramadhan fast. And even if he makes a niyyat of a natural fast, and later it becomes known that it is Ramadhan, it will be sufficient (i.e. that fast will be counted as the Ramadhan fast).

1578. If it is doubtful whether it is the last day of Sha'ban or the first of Ramadhan, and a person observes a qadha or a Mustahab fast or some other fast on that day, and later comes to know the same day that it is the first of Ramadhan, then he should convert the intention to the Ramadhan fast.

Now, Jews Protest Against their Government

Thousands of Israelis are set to stage a demonstration in Israel to protest at the high cost of living and social inequality in the occupied lands.
Fresh rallies are planned for Saturday in several Israeli cities including Tel Aviv against the economic policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
There have already been weeks of anti-regime demonstrations in Israel with many people arrested during the protests. The demonstrators say they can no longer afford the sky-rocketing housing prices, which have jumped by 50 percent in recent years.
They are also calling on the regime to curb the high costs of fuel, food and healthcare. The protests have exposed a deep middle-class frustration over the economy, presenting Netanyahu with his biggest domestic challenge yet.
On Friday, hundreds of people also held a demonstration in Tel Aviv, warning that they would block roads all over Israel on August 1 if the cabinet of Netanyahu fails to meet their demands. Read Full

15th Sha'baan: Day of the Oppressed

Books Exhibition at Moghul Masjid on 17th July 2011
As per the Islamic Hijri calender, today is the 1177th birthday of Hadhrat Imam Mahdi (atfs). It is celebrated all over the world. People are awake the whole night and perform Ebadat (supplications), remember the departed souls, prepare sweet dishes, attend poetic functions, visit graveyards, celebrate and remember Imam of the time, Hadhrat Hujjat ibnil Hasan al Mahdi (may Allah hastens his re-appearance).
The innate nature of man has been embedded for the want of saviour who can pull him off during the time of disturbances and perils and finally restores his dignity. The man has always been in the state of hope, that there is someone who can put to an end his calamities brought to them by fellow humans, who for the hunger of power to rule always tried to exploit all the means of oppression and deceit.
The prophets and messengers were the deputy of Allah on the earth and they had been sent for this great cause. They stood firm against the oppressors and tyrants and never compromised on their beliefs and divine message. They have guided their nation towards God and rescued them from the clutches of despots and unjust rulers.
One Lac twenty four thousand prophets from Adam to Hadhrat Mohammad (sawaw). They all were to guide the mankind towards the path of Allah, the Truth. The humility and humbleness was the required criteria to tread the path of salvation. The arrogance was never tolerated to achieve the divine Truth, in fact it spoilt the accomplishments. The people were tested and tried after they were guided on this divine course. Those who shed the love of this material world were successful and those who were deceived by the glitter of this world and allured by it had to pay with their eternal place in Paradise.
The last and final representative of Almighty Allah, Hadhrat Imam Mahdi (atfs), is calling to those who wish to reserve the promised abode in the Heaven, to get ready to help him to implement the divine promise of getting rid from Injustice and tyranny from the face of the earth. And the pre-requisite for this enrollment is to transform ones self and to implement J U S T I C E on himself and his family, then, only he will be accepted to be the part of the group of helpers of Imam (a.s.).

Former IMF chief, Dominique Strauss-Kahn: A Zionist

Former IMF chief recently charged with rape says Israel is first thing on his mind every morning.

Although his alleged sexual exploits are making waves, it is Israel, not women that is in former IMF Chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn's heart.
In an interview with the newspaper "Liberation" back in April, just over a month before he made headlines for attempted rape charges (that are looking increasingly shaky), DSK told the French daily that only three things could prevent him from becoming the next president of France - his money, his women and his Judaism. Now the Tallest Clock Tower of the World in Makkah

MAKKAH – The tallest golden minaret in the world, which has been erected on top of the Makkah Clock Tower, will broadcast the call for prayer (Adhan) from the Grand Mosque in Makkah through special loudspeakers that will carry the sounds to people almost 7 kilometers away.
On special Islamic occasions, such as the beginning of the Hijri months and Eids, 16 special vertical lights will flash 10 kilometers into the sky.
During the Adhan, 21,000 lamps on the highest point on Makkah Clock send brilliant white and green lights to the sky; they can be seen from a distance of 30 kilometers. The lights indicate the beginning of time for prayer, especially for people with special needs such as those with weak hearing and those far away from the Grand Mosque.
The Makkah Clock Tower stands 601 meters. The height of the clock from its base to the highest point at the peak of the crescent is 251 meters.
The tower’s height makes it the world’s second-tallest building after the 828-meter Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The clock, which began showing time about 11 months ago, is part of the structure that cost some SR11 billion to construct, officials have said.
The front and rear of the four faces are 43 meters by 43 meters and the two side faces are 43 meters by 39 meters.
“Allahu Akbar” (Allah is the Greatest), in Arabic, can be seen on the top part of the clock.
The letter “Alif” in “Allah” is more than 23 meters tall and the crescent, with a 23-meter diameter, is the largest crescent ever made.
The two testimonies, “There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His Prophet,” can be seen at the top of the two side faces of the clock, which has been designed in an Islamic style, according to the most precise Islamic criteria.
The clock, which weighs 36,000 tons, is more than six times larger in diameter than London’s famed Big Ben.
During the day its face is white and the indicators are black. At night, the face changes to green and the indicators change to white.
More than 90 million pieces of colored glass mosaic embellish the sides of the clock, which is visible from all corners of the city, SPA has said. Elevators will take visitors up to a huge viewing balcony just underneath the faces, a four-story astronomical observatory and an Islamic museum. The Clock Tower is the landmark feature of the seven-tower King Abdulaziz Endowment hotel complex. The project is part of efforts to develop the old city and make it more capable of catering to pilgrims.
The clock reflects a goal by some Muslims to replace the 127-year-old Universal Time standard – originally called Greenwich Mean Time – with Makkah Mean Time.
At a conference in Doha in 2008, Muslim clerics and scholars said Makkah time is the true global meridian. They said Makkah is the center of the world and that the Greenwich standard was imposed by the West in 1884.
