27th Rajab: Divine Position of the Holy Prophet

On Rajab 27, on the Hera Mountain, the honest Gabriel was sent to Mohammed ( SW) and addressed him as  "The messenger of God". Since then the Holy Prophet ( SW) on his way home ,found out that every thing would adore him saying : " Greetings would be upon Thee  the prophet of God". The day was marked with glory, light and happiness Mohammad (SW) has come to embrace the humanity with pure religious kindness. He is going to link the deteriorated lives of people with their pure innate disposition and recall the divine message to the terrestrials. Due to his arrival all biased ideas and disunity were vanished. Read more
In the sub-continent of India and Pakistan the believers celebrate this day differently. They prepare food and sweet dishes, give nazr on it and invite relatives and friends to their homes to relish it.

Martyrdom (Shahadat) of Imam Musa Kadhim (a.s.)

Imam Musa al-Kadhim (A) was such a blessed personality, that whosoever took his name as a wasila, they found that all their Dua were accepted. It is for this reason, that the people of Iraq referred to him as Baabul Hawaaij (The Door at which all their problems were answered).  It was widely known that Imam Musa Ibn Ja’afar had been given powers of healing. Once he was passing by a house and heard little children weeping. He enquired as to why they were crying. He was told that they were orphans and their mother had just died and now they had no one to look after them. He went inside the house, made two prostrations and prayed to God for her life. Moments later the woman stood up well and in good health. People who saw this and cried out, "Behold it is Jesus son of Mary."
It is stated by Al-Fakhri that there were some of the relatives of Musa Ibn J’afar who were envious of him and carried false reports about him to Al-Rashid, saying, “The people paying him the Khums, or one fifth of the property, are accepting the Imamat and he is about to revolt against you”. They brought this report to Al-Rashid so frequently that it made him anxious and agitated. He gave the accuser some money to keep bringing him more information. But it is related through authentic sources that this relative of the Imam did not have the chance of enjoying that reward for espionage, for as soon as he reached Madinah, he suffered a serious illness and died from it. It was in that year that Al-Rashid went on the pilgrimage, and when he arrived in Madina, he arrested the Imam Musa Ibn Ja’afar, brought him to Baghdad and imprisoned him under the care of al-Sindi ibn Shahik. (Al-Fakhri-Ibnul Tiktika). This agrees with Majlisi’s comment in Bihar al Anwar that “Harun took him from Madina ten days from the end of the month of Shawwal 177 Hijiri. Then Harun set out for Makka and took the Imam with him when he returned to Basra and had him imprisoned with Issa. About one year later he was taken out of the Basran prison and taken to Baghdad. He was put in prison there under the watchful eye of the most cruel person named al-Sindi. Majlisi goes on to say that the Imam died in his prison and was buried in the cemetery of Qoraish on the south side of Baghdad.
Al-Fakhri adds,” Al-Rashid was at Rakka and sent orders that he should be put to death. They then brought a number of so called reputable men to Karkh to act as coroners and to testify publicly that the Imam died a natural death. The place he was buried was a cemetery of the Qoraish. But soon this place became the focus of pilgrimage on the grave of the Imam. A town grew around the grave yard. The name of the town became Kazimiya, the town of the Imam Kadhim (a.s.) A reputed school of theology was founded in this town which is still a source of learning for many students from all over the world.
In one of his Hadith he says:
Plants grow in plain, not rocky, lands. In the same way, wisdom will grow in the hearts of the modest, not the arrogant, because Allah has made modesty the instrument of the mind and made arrogance the instrument of ignorance.

Significance of 22nd Rajab in Islam

The word NAZR is an Arabic word which means "an offering," in its verbal form it will mean "to offer" or "to make a spiritual vow."
Sometimes the word NIAZ is also used in this context. This is a word from Farsi which means "need," and it is its metaphorical use in the sense of an offering.
The basic concept of NAZR is to offer something less valuable in the hope and expectation of receiving something of higher value. The "value" does not have to be material; it could just be honor and dignity.
In fact 22nd Rajab (Koonda) is not only a family gathering promoting sila-e-rahem but also social and cultural gathering.
The NAZR of the 22nd day of the glorious month of Rajab is done as a result of this love for the holy Ahlul Bayt (a.s.).
On this day the sweet dishes like kheer, pudi, gulab jamun, barfi, and other items are prepared. The believers visit each others homes and consolidate their bonds of relationship.
The Muslims of Indian sub-continent celebrate this day irrespective of their sects.
Lately, the Wahhabis tried to sow discord among Muslims (as per their agenda) and tried abstain them from holding such festivities by calling falsely to it as bid-at and haraam.

One of the house of a Muslim arranged the sweet on the 22nd Rajab

Sheesha Smoking: A Fatal and a Harmful Trend

This pic was clicked in Iraq, a roadside sheesha vendor
The sheesha culture has spread like wild fire all over the world and has targeted the youth, particularly Muslim youth. It has its vast network in Arab countries. Iran was also a victim of it, but, the government has taken some strict action and prevented its youth from getting addicted to this kind of smoking.
Even in our Mumbai we see the Sheesha Cafe sprawling all over the city. Strict license system for opening an outlet has put a break on it. The sheesha joint has become the prime business target for the drug peddlers. It is necessary to watch this issue closely and to keep a strict vigil on it.
Below is the video talk on this issue prepared by Ahlul Bayt TV.
Watch it and give a serious thought. God forbid, the youth of your family may not become  the next prey to this Sheesha habit.

Get Ready for the Month of Rajab

Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.A) said:
"...Know that if a faithful person fasts (in month of Rajab) seeking reward from Allāh he has gained lots of pleasure of Allāh  The fast of that person would end the anger of Allāh upon him; a door of Hell would be closed for him. The reward of this fast with pure intention is better than giving an earth filled with gold as charity. No object in this world can make his reward complete except good deeds. As soon as night falls, Allāh would fulfill his ten wishes. If he prays for worldly life his prayers would be accepted. One who prays for His friends, lovers and chosen people, Allāh would accept his prayers..."

Tomorrow May be the First Day of Rajab

Imām Mūsā ibn Ja‘far al-Kāzim (A.S.) said:
"Rajab is a river of Paradise whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. One who observes one fast in the month of Rajab, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime would satisfy him with this river."
[Reference: Sawaabul A’amaal & Iqaabul A’amaal, Page 84 ]

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq (A.S.) said:
“Nuh (a.s.) boarded his ark on the first of Rajab and ordered his companions to fast on that day. He said that Hell goes away to a distance of one year from one who fasts on this day. One who fasts for seven days all the seven doors of Hell would be closed for him. One who fasts for eight days all eight doors of Paradise would be opened for him. One who fasts for fifteen days would have his problems solved. One who fasts for more than this Allah, the Mighty and Sublime would grant him a greater reward."
